ValerieAndBooks @Graywacke @susanw @batsy @BookishTrish Thanks for all your thoughts 😊. Definitely not a mindless page-turner. Which is fine, but family life has been hectic lately which makes it hard to do any kind of reading, much less the contemplative kind. At page 51 now 😅. 6y

saresmoore I just started this part! I‘m not sure how to feel about the description of women. It seems magnanimous, given the cultural context, but accusing women of being more prone to festering lamentation and, well, hysterics takes it into the realms of condescending. 6y

Oldest son is planning a move to Nashville without a career-type job lined up yet (hoping to find one after he settles in). Daughter starts college (junior year) without an apartment secured yet. Younger son is starting HS senior year on the 27th, which happens to be my 30th anniversary, but hubby is leaving for a work trip to Helvetia the day before 🤯😨😩😭 6y

ValerieAndBooks @saresmoore and he‘ll be there for two weeks, which means I will mostly have to deal with all the logistics that happens during that time frame 😰 6y

I am hopeful that everything will come together and have a better outcome than you can even imagine. ♥️🤟 I also have hope that you‘ll get the chance to make up for your 30th anniversary...you know, once everything settles down again. 6y

saresmoore @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I was stuck on hats for so many years—I have such a hard time getting them fitted correctly! The hardest part about cardigans is putting all of the pieces together. My first one was sort of a disaster—I put it together like pants, rather then a sweater and had to take it all apart. 😆 6y

saresmoore @AlaMich I learned from a book, actually! Eventually I broke down and watched a YouTube video on a particular stitch and figured out that I was holding the yarn wrong (which explained my too-tight stitches and achy hands). Mostly I just gathered books and patterns and tried lots of things.
