Ugh, this was so good. I wouldn't consider it YA, though. This is one of those books that demand 'new adult' to become a genre recognized for more than college-age erotica. This book took on so much and Jane spoke believably as a struggling college student. TWs abound here, including: eating disorders, cancer, and family drama. I love the relationships, both romantic and otherwise, that Jane has throughout the story

#AwesomeApril readathon time! My only goal is to catch up on some reading I've been neglecting, especially #LMPBC! Also need to catch up on the #BNYAbookclub picks, and would like to make progress in some others I've forgotten about! (Mansfield Park, Anne series, and Black Future Month) @Andrew65

Read this one for #BNYAbookclub. Not my favorite, but I liked the atmosphere. I think the book honestly would have been a lot better without the perspective of Vivi. Maybe I just am not a fan of Kass Morgan's writing as much as Danielle Paige's. I will probably read the sequel when it releases

I love books written as poetry, and this wasn't an exception. I really enjoyed watching Michael grow up and discover new aspects of himself. I thought some of the ideas the author developed about growing up in different minorities (mixed race, queer) were super strong. It was also cool getting to see him grow and gain some faith in himself and who and how he wanted to be. This was book 2/1 finished for #JubilantJuly #readathon @Andrew65

I thought the beginning was slow to get moving. The girls are seniors and all 4 best friends. One of them, we are told, will become the president of the US. But which one? I thought the struggles with family, adoption issues, and socioeconomic status were very well done. Also, the marginalization of people with physical disabilities, and handling of mental health issues.

A fun who-done-it told in mixed media. A teen wants to do her senior project on a murder suicide that happened in her town between 2 seniors 5 years ago. Gets pretty thriller-y toward the end, too! Read for #BNYAbookclub

Just starting this one, even though I lead the #bnyabookclub this Friday! I really like this quote. Book is shaping up to be potentially pretty interesting too so far

I had tried reading this book once before, so my hopes weren't super high. But once I got about 100 pages in, I was hooked! I was nervous about the violence, but I don't think it got superfluous, even though it was at times hard to read. I LOVE the concept of the thunderhead! I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this book. It's set in a different reality similar to 16th century France. A young witch ends up having to marry a witch hunter. The magic is interesting enough and different from what I have encountered before. The enemies to lovers and slow burn romance was done fairly well. I didn't love the main characters, though. The romance was at times a little graphic for YA. Read for the #BNYAbookclub
