pick“Dead Famous“ is a sharp, funny, and ultimately disturbing look at the dark side of reality television and the lengths people will go to for fame. It‘s a thought-provoking commentary on a culture where entertainment often trumps human decency, and where the line between reality and fiction becomes increasingly blurred.
I am kinda undone with myself because I DNF'd 1984. I was doing the audio for a bookclub (pairing with Newman's Julia) and then when I was unable to make bookclub I realized there were other things I wanted to read more than 84 for the fourth or fifth time. But still it is lingering in my mind so i will likely pick the audio back up!
pickA reread, almost 30-years to the day that I last read it for A-Level English Literature. Wanted to reread before Sandra Newman‘s retelling, Julia. I loved it then and I loved it again now. Can I feel another Orwell deep dive coming on?
