This is book #1 in the series A Rachel McKenzie Mystery. Ellen Hargreaves is found dead on the island of Uist in the Upper Hebrides. Her death was ruled an accident but Rachel is convinced there's more to the story. I loved the setting of the isle of Uist and the characters of Rachel and Selena. It was a fast-paced mystery that I read until the final page and surprised ending.

EadieB I am looking forward to more books by this author. If you like gripping crime thrillers, then you will love this book. 18m

This was a very cute, steamy paranormal rom-com about a witch who accidentally summons a demon. There were some very cute scenes, and I liked her friend crew (I‘m guessing they get their own books?). I didn‘t love the moms who were very cringy and over the top mean to the point of caricatures. Still a fun read. 4⭐️

I enjoy this series but my favorite part might be the cover art.

5⭐️ holy shit! That was a roller coaster of emotions. Finally finish this beast, and it had me in all the feels at all times. I know not everybody is a Sarah J Maas fan, but I freaking love these books. 100% recommend😁 this was also my #BookSpin for #BookSpinBingo

This is the 3rd book in the Cornwall Murder Mystery. It was a very enjoyable read and I loved the Cornish setting. The main characters DI Lauren Pengally and DS Matt Price work very well together and I really liked watching how their friendship is growing.

EadieB Sophie Yates is a young fisherwoman who is found dead on the rocks with a fishing line tied around her neck and a poem in her mouth with the words: "Men must work and women must weep." Soon another body is found and the team is eager to get this solved before it turns into a serial killing. This fast-paced story had many twists and turns until finally the murder is solved. 2d
EadieB This book is a well-written police procedural and kept me guessing until the very surprised ending. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. If you like a gripping crime thriller then you would love this book. I haven't read any other books in the series but this book worked well as a standalone. 2d

I‘m not a horror girl at all, but this was over-the-top fun. A nod to slasher films, this had tons of great pop culture references and humor, but still plenty of gore, because it is a horror book.

#unpopularopinion here, but I was mostly bored with this. I appreciate that Hughes puts the reader in the mind of a serial killer, how she made the LA fog feel like a character, and this definitely had strong noir vibes. And the writing itself is fine. It just seemed like the whole book was the MC was driving around, eating, drinking, and obsessing over his bombshell neighbor. The killings were in the periphery-just not a lot of action.

Book 4 in The Holiday Adventure Club series follows Lucy and her vacationers to Morocco for the annual rose festival. This time her group includes a family, friends, a superstar and her ex-husband. This one was definitely a bit ‘heavier‘ than the previous books with TW for chronic illness, sexual assault & fertility issues.

🤓📚Second instalment of Bosch & I loved it!

GHABI4ROSES Yessss read that right after the first one! Just started the electric version of Gods of Guilt! Totally out of series order. I am back to listening to one (Connelly) and reading the other (Grisham). What a damn nerd love you and @Andrew65 2d

CatLass007 @GHABI4ROSES I just can‘t bring myself to read a series out of order. I‘ve been told that doesn‘t matter with Bosch but I just can‘t. Next up for me is Concrete Blonde. A special edition of The Black Echo was free on Audible for a while last year. It‘s narrated by Titus Welliver and includes a conversation between Welliver and Connelly. That conversation makes buying the book, even if you already have it with Dick Hill, completely worth it. 2d

DieAReader @CatLass007 I prefer to read in series order & generally do a good job of this unless it‘s a random buy🫢 12h
