There is something about this quote that really speaks to me. It just really resonates for some reason. Maybe because I run for the sheer joy of it.

This was an awesome book about the joys and evolution of running. I can absolutely see where Adharanand Finn got his inspiration from this book. The discussion of human evolution is fascinating. Some of the science is a bit outdated, but what can you expect from a book written over a decade ago? The book really holds up for the most part.

GingerAntics There is some fatfobia in one small part of the book that almost turned me off of it, but then I remembered the science was a decade old, and hopefully this guy wouldn‘t think negatively about any runner, no matter their size or body shape. Seeing that he rolled with some messy drunk runners with grace in this book, I tend to think he wouldn‘t. 2y

I don‘t run. I‘ve never wanted to run. But after reading this I do.
I thought this book would be some boring book about running. Surprise, it‘s not. It‘s about an adventure in the Mexican desert to discover an elusive tribe of ancient running people, a secret race, and the man that makes it all possible.

#MarchIntoThe70s #Day25 #BornToRun Wow, we are in the final week of March already! It‘s been a blast introducing people to not just new books, but new music as well. Can‘t wait till next March🙌My book for this prompt is all for Captain Mal. After the defeat of the Browncoats, Mal has kept on running, trying to outpace the Alliance while tweaking their nose a bit by stealing from them. I loved the tv series, loved the movie & now the novels.🧡🚀

Centique All the love for Mal! 😍😍😍 6y

This book broke me. I still think about it a good deal. I think what really gets to me is that Maddy had so much to live for, but wasn‘t able to reach out for help. We never know what inner demons others are battling.

Atalanta can “run as fast as the wind” and insists on running in the race the king sets up for her suitors. Atalanta ties with the winner and at least in the free to be you and me version decides to see the world before considering marriage and instead makes a friend. I loved Free to Be You and Me as a kid. #80skid #girlpower #borntorun #marchintothe70s

chapter_fifty2017 Did you read the following trilogy beginning with armegeddons children . I absolutely loved It 😂 but didnt read this one . Although maybe l should but l dont think it could be better as armegeddons children. 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @chapter_fifty2017 Oh yes. I've read it. I'm a long time Brooks fan. I guess what made the word & void trilogy so special for me is at the time fans could only speculate about whether the story was connected to Shannara or not. We didn't know then what we know now. 😊 6y
chapter_fifty2017 That would have been an amazing unknown arc , l do love his characters although he kills them off a bit erractly some times . I liked the two black staff books that followed but still think armegeddons children is so underatted as a great fantasy , in fact l think Terry Brooks is underatted as a fantasy author. 6y
