so-soThis was part ghost story, part mystery. I picked it up for the ghost story part of it and found myself enjoying the mystery aspect of it too. I thought it was good. Right up until the very very unrealistic ending (keep in mind, there was an actual ghost in this and yet the most unrealistic part of it was the villain). I found The Runes of the Earth with the #coolcover (top R) that matches the rest of my set of The Last Chronicles! The original book 1 (bot L) is lovely, but the rest (& an unrelated book of novellas) had awesome cover art by John Jude Palencar. I figured it was too costly to buy a new copy just for the cover but I found it for $1.00 at the book sale last weekend! The 4 book series + The King's Justice = a pretty #fivestack #ReadingResolutions

The #Female narrator together with the setting and other characters weaves together a sinister, mysterious and haunting tale, that I really need to reread at some point!

I love this #coolcover from my TBR, but I wish it didn‘t have that sticker in the corner! The book is blurbed (by Lev Grossman) as “A deeply satisfying literary mystery,” which sounds right up my alley. I loved another book by this author (In the Image), and on the strength of that read, I picked up this and one other by her. One of these days I will read them! #readingresolutions

OK, I posted this cool cover the other day when it compelled me to pick up the book from the library's new book shelves. I can't stop looking at it--the color & design are so cool.
