Not the sort of book I usually read, but I found "The President Is Missing" to be a lot of fun and a gratifying escape from the heaviness that usually steals my attention. 4/5 Stars
I spied this in my fave Little Free Library (the book, not the wine 😂) - not sure why there‘s such a low rating. Def a little hokey but very fast paced. And after this week of news, I‘d like to hope our government has this type of moral compass. 🤷🏻♀️🗽
My 85 year-old dad's introduction to audiobooks. He's losing his sight and complained that he only likes TV shows he knows well because he can't keep the characters straight in TV shows where he doesn't know their voices. I'm staying with him while my mom's away. We started listening last night and tonight he turned the TV off and asked to listen to the book!
Didn't enjoy this book. I had to skip so many pages! So many clichés. Disappointed.

Prompt: President's Day
Well day 1 of Covid19 quarantine... my poor sweet daughter has tested positive for covid19 and streptococcus. So will spend my time reorganizing our house with fiancé @lehnuh , deep cleaning and reading ... with my busy schedule driving trains I don't get to read nearly as much as I would like to. Will let my reading friends know about and review the book asap... take care and happy holidays

Put this off for ages, but really enjoyed it and the chapters did fly by. It‘s a political thriller and you have to try and guess who is also the treasonous back stabber!
Bit of a preachy presidents speech at the end, bet I can guess who wrote that!
I‘m so excited! I finally got my new Little Free Library up! My neighbors have been asking for one and since we built one for a park in town, we decided to put one up in our neighborhood as well!
Back to volunteering at the book store! Only 3 customers allowed at a time, but no one has come in for the first hour so I think we are ok lol #volunteerlife #bookspin #septuplespin #bookspinbonanza @TheAromaofBooks
After the first few chapters of meeting all the characters it was very fast paced which is pretty indicative of James Patterson and co authors. It is a great mystery thriller type book with a good twist, very relevant to these times. It is about the POTUS so it does have obvious political things within the plot. With the current climit of the Pandemic and our current economic downturn if you want an escape this is not it.
I've started and stopped this a few times. Mainly because it's the first 500+ page book I've ever read. This was a great read, long winded in spots. But I definitely recommend. Don't be shy.
I definitely expected more from this book. I‘m a huge James Patterson fan but this one just didn‘t do it for me. Maybe because I‘m not a big fan of political issues in books which was obviously a big part of this story. It also dragged a bit for me. Not a bad book by any means but not my favorite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little bit silly, but overall a good read.
Wow!!! This book was so good, it kept me hooked from the first words to the last. I was so excited to read this book and have wanted to read it since it came out, I am so glad I finally got the chance. This book is a crazy ride and so much happens, just when I thought the problem had been solved there was a twist I did not see coming and it was like that all the way through.

It‘s weird that it‘s almost 70 degrees in January, so I might as well get outside and enjoy it!
I put off reading this for a long time feeling it was a bit of a gimmick. Now I‘m sorry that I put it off for so long as it was a very enjoyable read. This felt much heavier duty than James Patterson books usually are and some much longer chapters - especially in the first half of the book. You can definitely feel the influence of Bill Clinton and his experience of being President. If you have been putting it off like I have, I would encourage👇
My #PoliticalIntrigue prompt! I enjoyed this but not enough to read more from the genre. A computer virus threatens the lives of all Americans while the President tries to put it fires everywhere! An interesting look at what goes on behind the scenes in the White House.

TIME IS SHORT and I've got a few days to finish this for my LAST #Booked2019 book!!!!! Getting some listening done while I'm making felted dryer balls for my mom and waiting for an appropriate time to head to the liquor store for... er... Christmas gifts... yeah, that's it...
Sooooooo...I didn‘t have high hopes for this because people gave it bad reviews but I liked it. I didn‘t see the end coming. (Largely I find Patterson to be somewhat predictable.) I really want more political thrillers from these two. #books #formerpresidents #america
Such a scary concept to me. If we haven‘t already reached this possibility, I fear we are not to far off.
I knew this was going to be a good one! I have raced through it and I wish I would have slowed down a little bit. It was fantastic and such a page turner! So much action and drama, I loved it! 😊
This one‘s been out for a while so I‘m sure it‘s a known quantity to most people on Litsy. That being said, Patterson knows how to write a good thriller and the first-hand knowledge of the presidency/government Clinton brings to the story makes this one work. And honestly, who doesn‘t like the idea of a president who puts his country & the safety & well-being of its people above everything else?!? An entertaining summer read & a fun escape.
I really enjoyed this book. It took me only a couple of days to finish it. I felt like I had to know why he was missing and who the bad guys really were. It wrapped up nicely in the end too, which is a great plus. Book 3 of #bfcr2
I really wanted to like this book. However, the characters were blah. It gets intense and I liked the ending. The plot was good but not put together well.
A very enjoyable political thriller, I didn't find it hugely suspenseful but I liked the story and the characters enough to fly through it!

Tonight...Mom gave it to me to read which means it should be entertaining. I‘ve seen a lot of positive things about it on a Litsy too so I am expecting a fun book.
I read this on a whim. Dennis Quaid was the reader and I‘m not a fan of his voice but he actually did a really good job with it. I haven‘t read a thriller in awhile and it was a nice break from what I‘ve been reading. It was a fun book and I wanted to finish it so much that I read the last few chapters in the physical book. I read it for ATY prompt book with a mostly black cover. #ATY2019 #aroundtheyearin52books
Sorry Mr. President but you should stay missing. This book has an overdramatic plot and stereotypical characters. I really tried to like it but found myself trying to stay awake instead.
I‘m not a big fan of audiobooks as I prefer to see the words when I read rather than hear it. Yet this has kept my ears glued to the headphones, especially during my morning jogs.
There were lots of mixed reviews about this book out there but for now I‘m enjoying it very much. Predictable plot though. 😁

Somebody needs to tell these two goons they don't need to use italics to show someone else is speaking. President Mary Sue who is war hero (and eveything else hero) with health problems has to disappear in order to stop a computer virus that will potentially destroy the Internet and life as we know it. Maybe I would have preferred it as a holiday read.
Oh my goodness, Jee @Jee_HookedOnBookz !!! You absolutely spoiled me! I am so excited to read the book, I LOVE the bookmark (owls are my favorite!) and the stickers are perfect! I loved reading your card and I look forward to getting to know you more! Thank you so very much for the #litsylove !!
Hmm, I get the feeling Mr Clinton wrote the 1st person president stuff. This president can do no wrong. He's about to meet a terrorist but first he has to buy a homeless vet a meal and almost stop a man being arrested.
Listened to the Bolinda audiobook. My first James Patterson. I wasn‘t too enthused, the President was such a combination of Harrison Ford and Martin Sheen my eyes kept metaphorically rolling. Felt like a Clinton manifesto. Also wasn‘t keen on the multiple points of view. Fine to listen to while doing other things but don‘t know if I would have stuck with it if reading the hard copy.
I felt it was an overhyped book and far better books have been written on this. Re read shall we tell the president if you feel like picking this book.
Book 7 read in 2019. This was an exciting political thriller.
Taken back by the library, my eyes got bigger than the amount of reading time I had!!
Really enjoyed this book. Kept me guessing the entire time. Listened to it and Dennis Quaid did a great job at narration.
Excellent Book!! Once you start reading this one you will have a hard time putting it down. I felt it lived up to the hype and gave great insight into the challenges the President May face.
Nice thriller with some good writing. Kinda like that movie you watch and you didnt expect much but it surprises you.
If the author focused more on the deceased wife, I think it would've brought a lot more depth.
I found this book riveting from page one. The storyline is woven and removes but kept exceptionally clear. I cannot recommendation this book enough.
