A fun little historical cozy mystery. Lady eleanor Swift inherits an estate from her late uncle and witnesses a murder while on a walk on her first night there. With the help of her butler and Gladstone the bulldog, she investigates.

The cover makes the story look more glamorous than it is. It takes place in the country/small village. Eleanor is riding her bike, getting dirty, and ruining her clothes, not wearing evening gowns 😀

As Hemington paid, Viv handed him a roll on a piece of waxed paper and leveled a glare at him. "If you don't eat this, it's possible Tandri or I may have to kill you." The young man laughed, although the laugh became strangled when Viv didn't join in.

Finished this one the other day. I hate when you think you have 30 more pages left, but it turns out to be another story 🤦‍♀️. But luckily I got a story about the same characters.

This was just lovely. A high fantasy with low stakes. (It says something like that in the back).

I loved this book! And hope the author chooses to write more! I was already going to read this, but @DebinHawaii had it as an unofficial option for #ALSpine

I was gifted two copies of this book from BookCrossers and finally finished it 5,093 days after I started reading one copy! Glad to finally learn whodunit! Loved the Scotland flavor and even a reference to Kintail (where my username originated). #unreadshelfproject

In A Bakeshop Mystery #2, Jules accepts an invitation to join a TV baking contest to help save her family's bakery. But she soon finds herself wrapped up in another murder mystery where every one has secrets they are trying to hide. Who was willing to go as far as murder to keep it hidden. I enjoyed this one as much as the first in the series.

Finally got a bingo on my #ISpyBingo board. It's been really useful in helping me decide what to read next. I've started Packing for Mars for suitcase. I think sports jersey and footprints (and time) may keep me from a blackout, but we'll see.

Thanks @TheAromaofBooks and @Clwojick for a fun little challenge.

Clwojick Great job! ❤️🎉 2d
TheAromaofBooks Yay bingo!!! I still haven't scored one 😂 2d

Yes...many!!! I have moved around a lot. Joining local book clubs was how I met people. Due to COVID, I was able to rejoin the first book club I was ever a part of back in DC, because they are virtual now. I also host my own local (now virtual) book club called International Journey Through Pages, where we mostly discuss books set in other countries, focusing primarily on books in translation. #SundayFunday @ozma.of.oz

ozma.of.oz That focus sounds so interesting! I bet you‘ve read some amazing books! Thank you for sharing! 4d
