I MAY have gone a little wild buying ebooks lately.
Damn those daily deals and Cyber Monday specials.
The problem is (well, one of the problems) is that I tent to forget what I have on my kindle. Which is why I have multiple copies of books. 😔 😠 Not good for the budget. 😞
Have you read any of these? What‘s a good one to start with?
I loved The Answer Is No.

RainyDayReading I haven‘t read any of these but have read from Darcy Coates in the past and loved it! Hopefully you enjoy Ghost Camera! 3w

Monk Nichephoerous‘ dream of Saint Nicholas leads him on a heist to steal the Saint‘s bones. With irreverent and sometimes nihilistic language it still sometimes a little too opaque for me and the style often leaves me feeling detached from the characters.

Found this in my local charity shop! I've been looking for this for ages and it's got red sprayed edges which look so cool

I'm so happy! Always check out charity shops 🤣

Jari-chan How cool is that! 3mo

Mehso-so

It was a lighthearted read about the crazy house-heisting capers by a group of indomitable women. Very Downton Abby esc. This is what happens when you upset Mrs King. After years of loyal service, she is let go and she decides to get even. They just didn't see it coming. It is a sweet easy read but it will not set the world on fire or make me dash to read other offerings by Alex Hay.

Witty and intelligent, Nicked weaves a magical story out of historical facts.

Anyone else see this?

Ruthiella I want to know what the book was! 😂😂😂 4mo
Dilara @Ruthiella The Gods at Six O'Clock (Gli dèi alle sei) by Giovanni Nucci. Apparently, when he heard about it, the author offered to send the book to the robber so he could finish it 😂

Edited to add that I got the info from this LT convo: https://www.librarything.com/topic/362836 and to tag the book

Ruthiella @Dilara It must a compelling book! I hope he renounced his life of crime and also finishes the book. 😂 4mo

Dilara @Ruthiella 😁 😂 And also, let's hope that the Netflix series it will no doubt inspire is decent 😉 4mo
Sharpeipup @dilara Thanks for the details! 4mo
MonicaLoves2Read I saw this on FB. I laughed. I may have to read the book to see why the burglar thought it was so good 😂 4mo

This was a charming YA heist of a group of all asexual friends!

While there are a lot of things I like about Las Vegas, the actual casinos are pretty low on the list. 🤣

A fun heist. Very Ocean's 8, only set in 1905 and they're robbing a mansion. Some of the character subplots bog the story down a bit, without actually letting us get invested in them, and some characters we barely get to know at all. But overall this was very entertaining. Would make a fun movie for sure.

julesG I think the next book is connected. I hope so anyway. 4mo
Leniverse @julesG I want to know more about the Janes! Are they really sisters? What is Jane 1's real name? What's their story? 4mo
julesG Yes to all of this. That is, I think it's mentioned that they aren't sisters. 🤔 When they are introduced and Mrs King questions that they are blood relatives. 🤔🤔 4mo
Leniverse @julesG She thinks they aren't sisters because they are too studiously alike, but nothing is confirmed or denied. I'm reluctant to trust in Mrs King's perceptions, she definitely has blind spots 😂 4mo
julesG Oh right. Blind spots make great plot devices though. Let's hope we find out about the Janes in the next book. 4mo

I bought this book based on the description: “wildly imaginative, genre-defying, and delightfully queer adventure—a swashbuckling saga, a medieval novel noir, a meditation on the miraculous, and a monastic meet-cute.” No regrets!

TieDyeDude @wildalaskabibliophile just started this. M.T. is one of her favorite authors. 5mo

I liked the idea of the book and engaging writing (making you eager to see where it was headed). It was a story full of action and quite a bit of disbelief (some plot points felt too convenient) :)
