Kenyazero I didn't see myself as a reader as a kid because I struggled with reading, but I liked reading Garfield comics (which I knew teachers and librarians were not impressed by) and eventually graduated to Sailor Moon manga from there, and then other manga. These items helped me figure out how my brain reads. I'm sure reading copious amounts of fanfics as a teen also helped 🤭 I started finding experiences I related to in these nontraditional reads. 1w
megnews @Kenyazero that‘s great! I think it‘s a shame when comics aren‘t considered reading. I have 2 daughters that are readers but my son had a lot of difficulty and I was happy when he read car magazines! 1w
