Already posted about it, but here's another post, because this book deserves it. Best book I read this weekend for the #24in48 readathon. Anybody who's thinking about picking it up, I wholeheartedly suggest the audiobook, the author is so passionate when narrating, it's a wonderful experience.

Librariana I wholeheartedly agree! I just finished reading her second book and it was just as warm, real, and delightful! 5y
Davor @Librariana it's on my TBR list! I'll definitely be checking it out soon. 5y

Done! (Doesn‘t mean I‘m gonna stop reading though! 🤣)

I‘m only about halfway through The Serpent King, but I think it‘s my favorite read from this readathon. The main characters are 3 friends, seniors in a rural TN high school, each with their own quirkiness and challenges in life. I can‘t wait to see where this story goes!

I've posted this book many times. It's my go to recommendation. The story has many of my favorite elements, family, history and magic realism. I'm definitely not going to make 24 hours but I am on track to completing my goal of breaking the 20 hour mark!

Pickpick

This probably shouldn‘t be my Swiss Army pick because I know from experience that Kingsolver is not for everyone...but I love her, and I‘ve recommended this one so often over the years, and still do. #24in48 #hour42challenge

AmyG I loved this book. I recommend it too and I always say...get through the first 75 pages and enjoy! 5y
brandybear22 Excellent pick. Maybe time for me to reread 🤔 5y

Freespirit Love it too💕 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘ve read two of her more recent books, and loved them. This is my next one! 5y
Christine @AmyG Haha, are the first 75 pages slow? I don‘t even remember! 5y
Christine @brandybear22 I think I might do a reread of it this year! 5y
Christine @Readerann @Freespirit So good! These comments are really making me want to reread it! 5y
Christine @BarbaraTheBibliophage Oh good! I hope you love this one just as much. (I think I saw you really enjoyed Unsheltered? Me too!) 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Christine Me too. Yes, I loved Flight Behavior and enjoyed Unsheltered. Anxious for the back list! 5y

#hour42challenge #24in48 @24in48

Couldn‘t get access to my main shelves for pics (it‘s a long story—first book is The Secret of the Old Clock, last is a stack of Asimov‘s sf magazines), so you‘ll have to settle for pics from my tbr shelf. The pocket James Joyce is last because it‘s a book I barely want to read. Napier‘s Bones is first cuz it‘s shortest.

Literal bookends, the first and last books on my bookshelves. I won't be making 24 hours this weekend but I am 20 min away from breaking my time on the last readathon. I've still got time to reach my 20 hour goal.

Andrew65 A great total 👏 6y
