ImperfectCJ @Prairiegirl_reading It's spiritual from a humanist, kind of New Age perspective. Since he wrote it, Eisenstein has gotten involved in some pseudoscience/conspiracy theory type stuff, which I find questionable, but I remember really appreciating his perspective in this book. I‘ve got to disagree with Arendt. There is not a new kind of evil, a special, radical kind of evil that started with the Nazis. Every human being is fully capable of such evil. It is our better nature that allows us to override any desire to be evil and choose to be good people. When one starts to believe that this evil can benefit one‘s better nature is when these atrocities happen.

3 ⭐ This book is about being yourself and how there is no one exactly like you. Each page takes a concept and talks about how you as a human match that concept whether it‘s being animal whether it‘s being water whether it‘s being unique and different. All in all the book and has to match.

Emily Eternal | M. G. WHEATON

so-so

An interesting concept that falls short of it's full potential. Emily is an interesting character who doesn't quite fully materialise on the page whilst other characters flit through the story as mere vessels for Emily. Wheaton makes the Sci-fi writer mistake of getting too smart in places meaning I lost interest and the story never quite recovers.
