mydearwatson I don't know if they start it so much as attend, but this guy gets a seat at a restaurant the same day they want to go instead of getting a reservation three months in advance like everyone else...that definitely takes some money! (edited) 7y

Rich: Solitaire | Graham Masterton

#MelodiousMusicals #IfIWereARichMan Not as creative as others but today's musical made me think of books where we have people going from rags to riches, e.g. Kane and Abel. I have chosen a historical Saga, Rich, written by Graham Masterton and which I read and really enjoyed over 30 years ago. Also loved some of his other historical sagas including Solitaire and Railroad, yet not read him since! Must address this. This musical was made for Topol.

After Anatevka: A Novel Inspired by "Fiddler on the Roof" | Alexandra Silber

#MelodiousMusicals #IfIWereARichMan 🎵🎶OMG 😲How did I not know about this novel before today??? Fiddler On The Roof is one of my favorite musicals...I've always wondered what happened to Tevyah & his daughters!!! Coincidentally, I'm traveling to Odessa tomorrow on a charity mission which makes me believe I'm destined to read this book. Has any Litten read it? Please share your thoughts!

BookNAround Haven't read this but did read the original short story by Shalom Aleichem that was turned into Fiddler. It was part of the Russian Soviet Life class I took in high school a long time ago. 7y

readinginthedark Have you read the original stories? My brother said he thinks there's more about each of the characters after Fiddler in that, too.
