#ImaginaryPlaces #WanderingJune #currentread #DuneInJune
Just started this behemoth and have arrived at the desert planet Arrakis. Not even 100 pages in, and there is already much political intrigue and religious lore to interpret in the Dune universe. Off to a promising start overall 🏜️ 🐛
The author takes us into the imaginary place of the lives of book characters once the pages have been closed. What do they do while they wait for you to open the book and continue reading?
(Day 2 - #ImaginaryPlaces)
*While the garden is real, parts of Burnett‘s story involve the imaginations of some of the characters, e.g., Colin must use his imagination to conceive of the garden as Mary describes it; Mary may or may not use her imagination in following the directions of the almost anthropomorphic robin redbreast; Mr. Craven‘s imagination might be fashioning the sprits who visit him, and the ensuing dream he has. ♥️
“If you can dream a thing, then it has a kind of reality in your thoughts. And if you dream hard enough, and have the right vehicle - a vehicle that you really love, a part of yourself - you can slip right out of reality and into that other, better, imaginary world, where the only reality is the one you allow.”
