Wow...it‘s been a while since I‘ve read a book by Julia Alvarez.
This is a #mustread about loss, grief, life, life after loss, love, family, sisterhood, mental illness, words, immigration, forgiveness, and self love. All of the intricacies of life, in a nutshell.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of poetry. The poems were each three stanzas of ten lines each and covered a myriad of subjects. They usually took a surprising or poignant turn in that third stanza. My favorite poem was “Deathday.”
Yep. This is the only book I read in June. I had too much personal stuff going on to concentrate on a book. But July should be a bit more calm, so I‘m hoping for a lot more reading!

Strongly disliked the author-insert frame story in In the Time of the Butterflies and this is promising to be an entire collection of self-absorbed autobiographical poems. Not interested.
The ones I read worked much much better as prose paragraphs. The line spacing has no purpose.
This Litsy bail marker is great. Am now committed to not reading this. No need to suffer through.
I loved this collection so much!!!! Sorry I‘m later than usual sending it out, but I‘ll have it in the mail today! #lmpbc @slategreyskies @HoneyBeeLee @thebluestocking
