Been a good while since I have posted on here. Currently on the last book for the Poppy Wars series. What are you reading?
Really liking this one surprisingly. Good amount of spooky vibes.

This one was added to my Spooky October TBR. It was advertised as horror so I thought it would work perfectly. This was not a horror book. It was however a very good fairytale retelling. So was a pleasant surprise. Defiantly recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read reminiscent of old school fairytales. Just do not go into this expecting horror.
The smut was decent, most of it happening in the last chapters. I liked that you do get to see the different characters points of views. The storyline was decent you do have a mystery of Poe‘s missing mother sprinkled here and there as she goes through Auden‘s library. The mystery does underline the romance side of the story until the end. The characters were intriguing and complex.
Very typical young adult storyline; young girl need to rise to become the hero falls in love with a fellow warrior and then one of her best friend admits his love for her. The action in this book was i think well spread out for the book being 177 pages long. If you are looking for a quick plate cleanser from your usual reads then this maybe the book for you. Other than that you will survive skipping this book.
This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but to me this book was a solid three stars. I spent the first half of the book debating about just DNFing it. It was hard for me to connect with the main character or any other character in this book. The storyline was average and nothing too memorable for me. I wanted so much to like this book but it just fell flat for me. I‘m happy to be done with the book because it was just a struggle.
I fell in love with the characters and their stories for the start. I can see the ending causing people to not give this book that good of a review but even the title gives it away. It‘s not a surprise what is going to happen. Knowing that I think the ending was actually done really well. It ends at a perfect spot and gives you that good conclusion to Mateo and Rufus story. I highly recommend this book
Have to say this one fell a little flat for me. The story was decent but didn‘t stand out to me. It might be because I went into this book not knowing it was a retelling of Great Gatsby. To me when you know that story there is not much leeway with where the story can go. The magical realism in here was interesting, I really wish they went a little more into it. The bits that you are given leave a lot up to the imagination.
If you are a fan of Malcom in the Middle and Breaking Bad this is the book for you! This was a quick read and very entertaining. Bryan Cranston has had a wide range of roles through out his career and just to learn more about what got him into acting and the life had growing up was really eye opening. He‘s work as a police man, rode his motorcycle cross country and been a person of interest in a murder investigation.
This one was a quick read. Perfect for those looking for a spooky read that is a unique retelling. I really have not read other stories about Dracula‘s brides so this was a first for me. Other than that it was an average read, nothing really sticks out as a OMG this book is awesome for me. So if you are looking for just something spooky themed to read for October that is quick this is the book for you.
This was such an emotional rollercoaster. It takes place in Los Angeles during the 1992 riots. It was such a parallel to what we are still facing in out county and a bit saddening that it is still happening. There were parts in this book that were just so frustrating to me the truth of the story in parts that makes you frustrated at the world and everything going on. I highly recommend this book be prepared for a nonstop emotional rollercoaster.
This was such a good coming of age book. The only thing that threw me was the Magical Realism aspect. I don‘t read a lot of them so it takes me a good chapter or two to get into the story the book fully. But once I was hooked I was hooked, I loved how the writer was able to weave in the #blacklivesmatter movement and protest without it being cheesy and making it relatable. I loved Tavia and her sister throughout the whole book.
Yui Shaw sets out with an ambitious plan. She'll find a way to obtain the Hero's legendary sword. She'll earn obscure classes, gain levels, and increase her skills. If you like RPG then this is the book for you! It reads just like a play through for a video game. Complete with acquiring new associates, increasing skill levels and unraveling the story of the Hero and Demon King. Some parts were a bit predictable but the book was still cute.
This book was so so amazing. It is a great middle grade read and will keep you hooked from start to end. Following Jude‘s story will have you on an emotional rollercoaster as she tried to navigate life in a new land that at times can be hostile.
I‘ve always felt sorry for Anna as she is following the line of wives who were either divorced, beheaded or died in child birth. Alison Weir does a good job of showing Anna‘s life as filled with so much strife and what she wanted always just out of reach. Unlike the previous book in the series you don‘t get a lot of over lapping, repeating events you have already read which was a nice change for me because you get more of Anna‘s story.
This was a short read that I am going to have to reread. I don‘t think I was in the right headspace while reading this. I didn‘t focus enough to get the names of the characters straight and I kept mixing them up as I read. I will defiantly give this book another read.

If you are looking for a decent written erotica book. I would recommend this or actually anything by Katee Robert. The story line was simple and the sex scenes were pretty spicy.
Current work day listen. Have anyone read this one? What did you think?
I really liked this retelling because it shows more of how Anne wanted to avoid the King at the start of his fascination with her. Slowly evolving into her ambition taking over and wanting to advance her status. At times you will cheer for her and other you will feel sorry for her. She gave up the one person she actually loved to pursue her ambition with the King. I would highly recommend this series for anyone interested in the Tudors.
Thank you so much @guinsgirlreads I love it 💜 can‘t wait to start reading #whiterabbitswap @LibrarianRyan

I have to say this was a very informative book. Churchill was dramatic as could be, a bulldog when he wanted something not stopping until he got his way and apparently had no probably taking meetings with important people while in the bathtub. There was a lot of information that this is defiantly going to be one I reread. I would defiantly recommend this one to anyone looking for a fresh looks at Winston Churchill‘s life as Prime Minister.
#Two4Tuesday Thank you @Butterfinger for the tag!
1. Churchill

@TheBookKeepers just got the book yesterday and already 100 pages in. I am loving it so much. 💜 @thebluestocking I am sending my book off today to you!
The book follows the life of Kathrine of Aragon the first wife of Henry VIII. Even knowing how the books going to end for Kathrine this book did hold my attention all the way through. At times I could not help but feel bad for Kathrine but then others I just wanted to yell for this woman to putting up more of a fight against her husband. Would recommend this one to anyone who likes reading about the Tudor period.
Just checking in with my #LMPBC group @TheBookKeepers @thebluestocking and @slategreyskies I am almost done with my book but will be sending out by the end of the week. How are you all doing? Staying safe in these crazy times?
