That was down to the wire, but I finished with 50,064 words and 22 minutes to spare! #NaNoWriMo #NaNoWriMo2017

Maybe now I'll have some time to post on here. (I really didn't mean to vanish for a month).

On Sunday, I hit 50,000 words in the draft of my novel for #nanowrimo! It was my first time doing it, and I'm really proud of myself. Now the real work begins!

#nanowrimo2017 #amwriting

JazzFeathers I've hit 50k only this morning. Always a nice feeling 😊 ls your story done or do you need more words? Mine is done 6y
kidamy @JazzFeathers I'm all l only about 1/3 done and it could be part of something bigger. It's got lots of characters and events because I was worried that if I didn't plan for a lot to happen, I would run out of (or feel like I was running out of) things to write. It's a terrible mess, really. 😉 6y
JazzFeathers @kidamy l know what you mean. Mine is short, but it's a terrible mess too. Besides, first drafts are supposed to be terrible messes, don't you think? 😆 6y

This is my second year doing #NaNoWriMo, and same as last year, my brain is so tired at the end of the day. I get into bed and try to read, but I keep drifting to my own plot, and I end up averaging 10 pages a night of this book, five of which I have to reread the next night. #NaNoWriMo2017

RadicalReader @RaimeyGallant just imagine how much rereading if it is a physical copy and you forget to place the bookmark on your current page 6y
Monica5 I didn't like this one. Girl On A Train was so much better, I thought. 6y

RaimeyGallant @Monica5 That's how I'm feeling too. 6y
Monica5 @RaimeyGallant, I am one of those crazy people that has to finish a book once I start it, so I stuck with it and wished I could just bail on it. 6y
RaimeyGallant @Monica5 As a writer, this book is really reinforcing how important it is to be careful of how many pov characters you have. What works on TV may not work in a book. 6y
Monica5 @RaimeyGallant You are so right. She just has to many chacters in the book. 6y
Wiscbdgrgirl I really relied on x-ray on my kindle for a good portion of this book. I‘m actually really loving t now that I‘ve got the characters all sorted out 6y
cevilsizer04 I liked this book but I thought that The Girl in The Train was better 6y
RaimeyGallant @We_Are_Infinite The Girl on the Train was my jam. This, not yet. 6y
RadicalReader @Wiscbdgrgirl what‘s the X-ray feature on the kindle? 6y
RadicalReader @RaimeyGallant what other books can you recommend that are like Girl on the Train? 6y
RaimeyGallant @RadicalReader @Wiscbdgrgirl explained it to me one post down on her page. :) 6y
RaimeyGallant @RadicalReader None come to mind at the moment...Try googling thrillers with unreliable narrators and see if anything stands out. 6y
Wiscbdgrgirl @RadicalReader https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200729910. I‘m not sure if KOBO offers a similar feature, but it‘s pretty great. 6y

NaNoWriMo Notes | Richard Marcus

So this is my first NaNoWriMo. I'm less nervous about the story and more nervous about the website. Do I write my story on the site? Or can I write it anywhere, post my word count, and then at the end post the story (assuming I make it 🙄 schedule for Nov is starting to pile up) I'm sure I'm sweating the small stuff, but ya know, want to be as involved as I can! #nanowrimo2017 #help

JazzFeathers Hi. Veteran Nanoer here 😊 You don't have to write your story on the site. In fact, you novel in never supposed to be published on the site. For 25 Nov you'll be able to upload the novel on the verification system. The system will verify your word count and nothing more. Of course you can write the story wheerver you want 😊 6y
LazyLibrary @JazzFeathers Thanks! That's what I thought! But I'm a nervous nelly! 6y
Foxyfictionista I did NaNo 7 years ago. It was grueling but fun. I also learned the value of plotting before writing. (the hard way) Don't put too much pressure on yourself; it's meant to be fun!! 6y

dylanisreading I think I‘m doing it this year too! I don‘t feel ready (no outline yet) but at least I have an idea, haha. 6y
Stephanie-Anne Yay! I‘m CricketW on nanowrimo. This is my 4th time. Let‘s be writing buddies! Will I find you with the same name you use here? 6y
LazyLibrary @Stephanie-Anne I'm under Lguido! I'll find you too! 6y
