Funny Story | Emily Henry

Good. Full of romance and friendship. Shows how relationships happen when you least expect it in the unlikely of circumstances. Also a must for any book lovers as the authors love for books just shines through. Another wonderful addition to the bibliography of Emily Henry. Thank you #VikingBooks and #Penquin #RandomHouse for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

Multiple locked-room mystery scenarios set against the back drop of a plague-ridden dystopian future? Sign. Me. Up. This book was a win for me. The author cleverly wove together the storylines while creating compelling characters. I enjoyed how it all slowly unfolded and came together like a puzzle. #NetGalley #TheDrift #RandomHouse #Ballantine

Very good. Informative and fast paced. Even though going into this book I only had a basic knowledge of the queens I left with a full knowledge which is a testament to the work of Alison Weir. Thank you #Penguin #RandomHouse for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

Good. Even though it took a long time for it to get going the pace does pick up and even though it does the ending just comes so suddenly that it just feels rushed. Also even though the setting is at Christmas and set during a production of A Christmas Carol it can be read during the whole year as it doesn't really give Christmas vibes. Thank you #Penguin for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

FelinesAndFelonies So jealous!! This one is my first anticipated book of 2022. ❤️ 3y
BoleyBooks @FelinesAndFelonies It‘s a fun read! I‘ll post a review soon. 😊 3y
LiteraryinLawrence I‘ll be curious to hear what you think about the representation of her disability. Sometimes I worry about authors using autism as a quirky plot point rather than it feeling authentic. But this sounds promising! 3y

BoleyBooks @LiteraryinLawrence I‘m on the spectrum and I didn‘t find the portrayal unpleasant.😊 3y
bthegood I just realized that I am reading a few chunksters - HP and the Half Blood Prince; The Thorn Birds, and Hearts in Atlantis. Audio book of Mrs. Dalloway - happy reading! 3y
BoleyBooks @bthegood Oh wow, those are some chunky monkeys! I need to read a few of those myself. 🤓📚 Enjoy! 3y

Edith Eger is a remarkable human being. Now in her 90s, she survived Auschwitz, and in later life went on to train as a psychologist. Here she shares her wisdom in a self-help book, with stories of how her, her family and her clients have broken through ‘mental prisons‘ and learnt to better appreciate the gift of life. She ends each chapter with a couple of exercises to help change your thinking.

rockpools I read her autobiography, The Choice earlier in the year and really admire her - I think she talks a lot of sense, and I‘m planning to go back and read this more slowly at a later date. I‘m not sure, though, that I‘d have been quite as receptive to what she has to say if I didn‘t already‘know‘ her through her earlier book. Maybe read that first? This was an ARC provided by #RandomHouse via #NetGalley for review (edited) 4y

I'm a little mixed on this one. I think this author shows potential. Cady goes to Harvard hoping to sort out her brother's suicide. Then she starts hearing ghosts. It's definitely entertaining. I'm curious to see what the author comes up with next.
