I greatly enjoyed the inclusion of The Thunder, Perfect Mind in this story. It seemed fitting and it worked beautifully. I appreciated the use of CE (current era) as opposed to AD. It makes sense for the story, but it is also in accordance with academic parlance and gives the book more weight, a more solid foundation. I liked the use of the Jewish months as opposed to our current months.

GingerAntics Again, this is fitting as they would have been what Ana and everyone around her would have used. I wish Ana‘s promise that every single act of his love would not be squandered, but in the ensuing 2000+ years they have not only been squandered but defiled again and again. Then, as now, love is revolutionary; and love is terrifying to those who cannot fathom it. Beautiful, wonderful story. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 1mo

A valuable reminder in this current time in America that the voices of women can be silenced for only so long, and we will always find a way to pass our stories on to the future. GingerAntics Also, I have a red parachord bracelet from TKD that I wear (it kind of looks like a TKD belt around my wrist) that felt special to this book as well. I liked that little link Ana had to him that whole time, that she carried with her always. 1mo

This was a beautiful and - no doubt - comforting sentiment. Sadly, it has not come to pass. For Ana, yes. After that, not only have all his acts of love been squandered, they have been outright defiled and continue to be so. The current climate of the USA is testament to this defilement.

Oh my goodness. This book. Is so amazing. A wonderful story about mothers and daughters and love. Side note: can I just say that I would LOVE to have a human like August Boatwright in my life? Because I definitely would.
