Amazing!!!!! The places this really shone for me were 1 In its art analysis. The editor and main author is “an art historian specializing in the study of creative processes of Modernist artists in Mexico and Latin America” a very cool specialty that I did not know existed. He‘s done extensive research on Frida and Diego and reading his analysis of her paintings is like taking a mini art history/art appreciation course. And 2 the book itself. 👇🏼

IndoorDame One of my favorite things about Taschen is they offer smaller more affordable versions of their most popular of their coffee table art books that make them accessible to a wider audience. This book does includes a very comprehensive biography of Frida but the writing in those parts is dry, and with so many biographies of her available if that‘s what you‘re looking for look elsewhere. 4mo

#HyggeHour was spent reading 2 more chapters of this and staring at the artwork. Anytime I spend with Frida somehow always relaxes me and sparks a flurry of creative ideas all at the same time. #litsolace

TheBookHippie I agree. I love her so! ♥️♥️ 4mo
TheBookHippie Pretty sunset! 4mo
IndoorDame @TheBookHippie it‘s been like this all summer, the sunset colors don‘t linger, but most nights there are a few moments that are consistently brilliant and I‘ve really been enjoying it! 🌇 (edited) 4mo

My lovely greengrocer gave me a punnet of a sprouting plant called Atsina® Cress. All I found about this mystery plant is: “This cress is named after an old North American tribe, the Atsina Indians. They used the leaves of this plant to make a warm sweet drink to ease the pain when they had a sore throat“ https://www.koppertcress.com/en/products/atsina-r-cress and no mention of the plant's common or latin name. Any idea what this is?

#Naturalitsy

Dilara Also, the cheek of a Dutch agriculture company trademarking a First Nations name! 6mo
IndoorDame It‘s a brand name. Cress is a mustard type herb with several different varieties. I‘d look up generic instructions on caring for cress plants. I think this one has an anise flavor, but just taste a leaf to be sure and you‘ll get an idea of how to use it. 6mo
Dilara @IndoorDame I know it's a brand name 😁 but I find the branding/trademarking of traditional plants infuriating, which why I'd like to know its real name 😡 I doubt it actually is a cress - Koppert seem to call all their micro-leaves “cress“, even when they are not (their peashoots are called “affilla cress“) 😂. To me, it tastes like a cross between licorice, mint and aniseed. Delicious eaten straight from the pot. 6mo
IndoorDame @Dilara definitely infuriating! 6mo

I ended up with a score of 134/187. I used to be a big movie goer, at least once or twice a week. Then Covid came along, theaters shut down and I got out of the habit. Since 2020 I've seen two movies in the theater (the last Fantastic Beasts movie and Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny).
#TLT @dabbe

dabbe Not bad at all! I watched tons of movies in the 80s but have tapered off since then. Now I just want to rewatch beloved ones from the past. Thanks for playing! 🤩🤗😀 7mo
