This was a fun read, better than the 2nd book in the series. The characters grew a lot and while it‘s irritating that the series is kind of parallel, if you read them all at once I imagine it‘s fun.
Anne must decide if she‘s been honest with herself or if Hart, whom she loves to hate, is correct and she‘s lost herself to her mother‘s grief. Hidden families, witty flirtation through writing and horses makes this complex and fun.
4.5/5 stars

I‘ve enjoyed all the entries in this historical romance series (I feel like Mimi Matthew‘s is becoming an auto-read author for me). This one especially nailed all of the romance tropes it includes (childhood friends > lovers > enemies > lovers), by actually making the scenario feel realistic based on the characters‘ circumstances and the timeline of their relationship.

It‘s only appropriate that I should be settling in for a quiet Valentine‘s night in with a sweet historical romance. Unfortunately, my husband headed back to his work yesterday (he has a 2 week on, week off schedule), but at least I have a swoon worthy duke to spend my solo evening with 😉.

Side note: the page turner remote that @Saknicole gave me for Christmas has completely revolutionized my Kindle/iPad reading!

Crazeedi That's a very cool tool! 2mo
lil1inblue I am obsessed with the idea of that remote. I find I'm always hovering my thumb over my kindle in anticipation of a page turn, and sometimes it actually gets sore holding in that way! 😂 2mo
Kimberlone @lil1inblue @Crazeedi now that I have one, I am totally reliant! Can‘t go back! 2mo
Saknicole So cozy! Happy late Galentines! 2mo

Third book in the Belles of London series. #SeriesLove2024

Lady Anne and Hart (Felix Hartford) were engaged ages ago, but this fell through. Now Anne needs Hart's help (because of a matter that's dealt with in book 2) and both of them tell themselves there are no feelings left between them. Well, it's a second chance historical #Romance set in Victorian times, so...

Well-researched, with an extensive Author's note.

Enjoyable, but ⬇️

julesG Unfortunately the plot is similar to that of another book I'm currently reading. Which makes it my second entry in the "A book with a similar plot" category of the #52bookclub24 2mo

Librarybelle At least it fits the prompt! 2mo
julesG @Librarybelle I think I'd have given it 4 stars if I hadn't been reading a similar historical romance at the same time. I had a similar experience with Emily Henry's Happy Place and Steven Rowley's The Celebrants - similar and published at about the same time. 2mo

So much fun just like the others in this series. The narrator is excellent! 🎧

This fun read ticked a lot of boxes for me. The author describes it as an historical mystery romcom, and I can‘t improve on that. And interesting mystery set in Victorian England, a delightful romance between the very likable main characters. What‘s not to love? Picked this up at the library, and now I want to find the other books in the series.

Loved this book! I even read some of it in the car (while in the passenger site), which is a big deal because I usually feel car sick.

This is the 3rd book in the Lady‘s Guide series. Follows Poppy (Flora) and Duke of Langham. Poppy‘s sister is accused of murder and it‘s in the town the Duke‘s estate is in. So they work together and has secret cults.

#thingsincommon - have blurb on cover (this next round of books was hard to match!)

Negatives: needed better editing—there were at least 2 times a character explained to another character the same thing they explained a few pages ago. Toward the end, 1 character was in 2 places at once.
—The 3rd in this series, all have used enemies-to-lovers trope & think all have professed love while the killer is still being taken away.
Positives—a fun, romance with a little mystery. I like the MCs. Easy read. 3.5/5 ⭐️

Or maybe this is the #Aardvark regency romance? This is my last guess, it's getting out of hand and I'm driving myself crazy 😂
