Pickpick

This book celebrates the winter solstice and the return of light after the darkest day. With poetic language and stunning artwork, it captures the joy and hope that comes with each new year. It‘s a lovely read for children and families, connecting them to ancient traditions and the wonder of seasonal change.

Bailedbailed

Got about halfway through and had to come to terms with the fact that I‘m extremely bored and lost all interest in what happens with these characters. I just couldn‘t keep reading and was dragging my feet with calling it quits. Plus, I couldn‘t stand one of the MCs. And I just don‘t want to waste more time with this one, so DNFed!

#NaturaLitsy #MidwinterSolace

I realized I never posted any #HyggeHugs the other day so since my #WinterSolstice self-care day was like a big hug, I thought I‘d post some.

The botanical garden I drive to was more green than flowers & the day hovered between rainy & not (if you look at the picture with #HyggeHugs you can see grey on one side of the tree & blue sky on the other) but it was restful, green & beautiful & I alternated driving & ⬇️

DebinHawaii …walking about in between rain showers.
Since I was nearby, I stopped at a little grab-and-go shop featuring different musubi (filling between or on top of rice with nori wrapped around it & got a few savory things for dinner. My real purpose in stopping by though was to grab a few of their frozen creme brûlée‘s which are a little bit of heaven. I ate one in the car & put the rest in a cooler to bring home for the freezer. ⬇️

DebinHawaii …I had ramen & gyoza for lunch-perfect for a rainy day & the Christmas tree was by where I parked for lunch. When I got home this afternoon, I had a little package in the mail that I think was maybe my prize for the book recommendation/stacking. Thank you @chrissyreadit What a nice “hug” & I love all the scents & mini candle light! 🤗 ⬇️ (edited) 11mo
DebinHawaii … I am spending the solstice evening after dinner, opening & enjoying my #NaturalLitsy card swap cards & reading & relaxing more. I‘ve been a little tired/down, so today was some much needed self-care & the drive & listening to my audiobook & mellow winter/holiday playlist was perfect. I‘m looking forward to my cards & will post them tonight or tomorrow. 💙❄️💙 11mo
