pickI enjoyed this one a lot! The first half started a little slow for me, but once I got to the second half, I finished it in a day! It‘s about four retired women who had a long career as assassins — and now someone is trying to assassinate them. Very entertaining!
so-soThis isn't my genre of choice, but I thought it would be more character driven than plot driven given the unusual age of the woman. Definitely a case of it's the reader, not the book.

so-soThis was…okay. I was really enjoying the physical version a lot! Around 20% in, I switched to audio ever-so-briefly so I could run errands and keep on reading…and the narrator‘s inflections kind of ruined it for me. I don‘t remember that ever happening before! What a bummer. Even though I easily read 80% with my peepers, I couldn‘t unhear the disappointing audio which had set an entirely different tone. *sigh* ⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘The Museum‘ recruited 4 girls in the ‘70s as Project Sphinx assassins; now they‘re meeting on a cruise to celebrate their retirement. Switches (currently; ch 5) between now (in past tense in the 1st person from Billie‘s POV) and the ‘70s (in - confusingly 🙃 - present tense, 3rd person) when they were recruited & sent on their first mission.
Picked this up because I read & enjoyed Richard Osborne‘s Thursday Club & sequel
pickI enjoyed every page of this book. The author cleverly creates a twelve-step program for professional assassins who want to leave that soul-crushing life. Our protagonist, Mark, known in his past life as the Pale Horse and approaching his one-year anniversary, finds himself back in and craving his old life. As an alcoholic in recovery myself, I found the program details accurate, and a fascinating spin on an important lifeline. A great read!
pickMr. & Mrs. Smith meets romcom! A total page turner, I would have devoured this in one sitting, if I could. Brazier is definitely an author on my auto-read list now.
pickI liked The Paradox Hotel, so gave this a try.
Former Seal turned assassin has retired from service and been 'sober' for nearly a year when he's attacked and his friends' lives are being threatened. Now his sobriety is in danger, because he might not be able to not kill to get out of this mess.
It reminded me of R.E.D. and The Professional. It had a few unexpected twists and good action. First person I'll recommend it to is my son.
