Gregory Maguire is the number one #AuthorILove. I have more of his books, but I don't have them with me right now, so I'm just featuring the books in the Wicked series. #17BookLove

minkyb He is great! 8y

Dark Corners: A Novel | Ruth Rendell

#authorilove #17booklove

Here's her first, and her last. There's something like 80 in between. If you have any love of mysteries, British detectives, or the darkness sometimes found in the human heart, get your hands on any book by her. You won't be disappointed.

LeahBergen I love Rendell. 💗 8y
Sweettartlaura @LeahBergen She was the best😍. Her last couple weren't her sharpest. But that can be forgiven of an 80 year old woman who has 70+ amazing books📚 8y
AmyG Everyone...READ HER if you haven't and you love mysteries. I spent a summer in the early 90's reading every book I could find of hers....going from library to library. She WAS the BEST. 8y

Jennifer Donnelly is one of my all-time favorite authors! She just came out with a new book that's basically Beauty & The Beast fanfic and I can't wait to read it! #17booklove #authorilove

MarriedtoMrT Love Revolution! ❤ 8y
abbiereadsbooks @MarriedtoMrT Have you read any of her others? A Northern Light and the Tea Rose series are some of my favorite historical fiction ever! 8y
MarriedtoMrT @abbiereadsbooks I read and really liked A Northern Light. I haven't read any of her adult yet. I'll add it to my list! 8y
BookswithTea The Tea Rose is one of my all-time favorites! Loved the whole series. I also love her YA, especially These Shallow Graves. I just got the new one and can't wait to read it! 8y
lynneamch Love her. Just finished Beauty before gifting to my 13-yr-old granddaughter. Hope she enjoys it as much as I did. ⚘😊 8y

Pickpick

#17booklove #AuthorILove I absolutely ❤️ Dame Agatha Christie. This is part of my collection; three stacks deep.
@jess.how

TheWordJar I'm embarrassed to admit I've never read an Agatha Christie book. 😳 And I know I'd love them! Any suggestions for which one to start with? 8y
LizzyM Such awesomeness! 8y
Lizpixie Ooh a Dame Agatha virgin!😂 I'd start with The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd or Taken At The Flood @TheWordJar 8y

Minispok 😍😍 8y
Lizpixie I've been collecting the Word editions like these and also the Classic Crime Collection trilogies from the 80s as well @erzascarletbookgasm 8y
erzascarletbookgasm @TheWordJar Oh, you need to pop your Agatha Christie cherry! 😂 So many you can start with..some feature the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot (The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express), the sweet Ms Marple (A Murder is Announced, Body in the Library) or the ones featuring Tommy & Tuppence (start with The Secret Adversary). 8y
erzascarletbookgasm @TheWordJar But I guess I will recommend that you read And Then There Were None. And watch the BBC series tv adaptation thereafter! 😊👍🏼 8y
erzascarletbookgasm @Lizpixie -- is one of my top three favourites of AC! 😊 8y
erzascarletbookgasm @Lizpixie it's perplexing that they publish different titles in different countries, but I collect all different titles! Not so particular about the editions though. I saw your collection, awesome! 😍 8y
hlgreenfield The Queen of Crime will always be one of my favourites! She got me into liking mystery novels, which are probably the books I read the most now! That is a particularly awesome collection! 8y
TheWordJar Thanks so much for recs, @Lizpixie and @erzascarletbookgasm! And I'm always up for a good BBC adaptation! 8y
erzascarletbookgasm @hlgreenfield thanks! Yes, AC is the one that spark my love for mystery novels, too. 😊 8y

The Lost Years | Mary Higgins Clark
post image

I grew up in a family that didn't have a lot of dedicated readers but I discovered Mary Higgins Clark at about age 12 right after Nancy Drew and I credit these "clean" suspenseful novels (specifically 2 I bought at 12 in a used book store) with really cultivating my love for reading. As I've grown older I have tried to deepen my reading but I will still always pick up MHC and as palate cleanser between heavy reads! #17booklove #authorilove

howjessicareads I looooved MHC around age 12 too! 🙂 8y
Readingrobin I love reading what you wrote! It takes the right book to make a reader! 8y
EloisaJames I'm a professor at Fordham, where she earned her Summa cum Laude degree -- she's amazing!! 8y
NatalieR My grandmother loved MHC novels! I got my love for reading and MHC from her. ❤️ Thanks for your post, it brought back happy memories!! 😊 8y

Okay, my 3rd reading challenge today. #17booklove @jess.how This is an #authorilove If you don't see one of his on this shelf then I've got it somewhere else in the house. Where is Norse Mythology going to go next week?

Eyelit 💜😍💜 8y
hlgreenfield I love Neil Gaiman, but my collection still looks very tiny compared to that one! And those editions of The Sandman look sooo much cooler than mine! 8y
