I'm Ok | Patti Kim

#MentalHealthMonday

1) I‘m ok today. Feel like last week‘s funk is dissipating. Had a good walk this morning, did some chores and got groceries. Ready to start the week.
2) Daily walks, lots of pug snuggles, lunch with a friend and hubby is home for the next ten days.

I loved Orbital. A very poetic thoughtful read…I wasn‘t sure how any book could beat James for the Booker, but now I understand.
Loved Clear also.. another beautifully written thoughtful book.
Every year I read a classic…a chunkster…this year it‘s Middlemarch! This is my second attempt and I‘m determined to finish it..
Happy reading everyone

JamieArc I started Middlemarch a year or two ago when a group was reading it here on Litsy. I only made it a third of the way so finishing it is one of my goals too. 10mo
CarolynM My husband is reading and enjoying Middlemarch at the moment. He said he‘s thinking of it as a series of books, rather than one book, so he can take a break when he reaches the end of each of its parts. 10mo
Freespirit Hi @JamieArc I will let you know how it goes! I‘m sure it will be well worth reading 😊 10mo
Freespirit What a great idea Carolyn! I wish my hubby read novels more. I often read him snippets of books I read. He reads articles and some non fiction. I think I have convinced him to read Orbital😊 @CarolynM 10mo

There was a lot of info here. Luckily, Goldberg writes in a very engaging, witty, and humorous way; other wise it would've read like a dry history text. The individual POVs from each side were interesting and enlightening and sometimes frustrating. Overall, a very worthy read.

This completed a second bingo for the month; yayyy!

"On the morning of the fine spring day, full of sunshine, that ended with my arrest in Gaza, I woke early from an uneven sleep, dressed, and pushed back to its proper place the desk meant to barricade the door of my hotel room."

Ok, a #BookSpinBingo book for another bingo that I actually have not read ?

Mehso-so

Truly and honestly picked for the gorgeous cover and topic of the circus, “TFCOMS” was overall not bad. Hough develops a strong voice in Stark, but the novel largely turns into episodes of her marriages with men we barely get to know, and an extremely limited cast of interesting side characters. The fact that Hough ends this book with a BJ is crazy work. Worth the read if you like reading circus fiction. No “Water for Elephants” for sure!
