These books are never what I expect, but it always blows my mind.
A very satisfying end to a very heart-rending journey.

Hob weaves true magic with her writing. Her poetic, imaginative prose takes you places you've never dreamt of; contiplating situation you'll never face, but truly do though her stories

👇🏼 continued 👇🏼

Enchanted_Bibliophile Going into a darker, more introspective character study with this book makes it much slower than the previous two (which were already slow) so perseverance is the name of the game. Don't try to rush, stick with it I promise you'll be glad you did. Even if it test your tolerance for grimness beyond what you think you can handle. 2w
Enchanted_Bibliophile The complexity of the character bonds is what really pulled it off for me. Nighteyes, Fool I'm looking at you.
The prolonged revenge quest got a bit much for me, but the character development I got out of it was so worth it. Understanding where Fitz came from - his physical and psychological suffering - made me understand his need for revenge.
2w
Enchanted_Bibliophile How he revenged himself in the end, O Man!
It shows just how much he's learnt and grown and it was just spectacular.

I'm gonna miss these characters, they've become a part of my heart.

This is a low pick for me. While I liked the characters, the plot didn't work for me. I get that it is fiction; however, as I have often stated, I want it to be at least a little bit believable. This story started out on a limb then just went on to be ridiculous. 3⭐️
Lots of triggers in this book. You've been warned. #Serieslove2025 #ShelfSweeper @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 #Read2025 @DieAReader #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable

I‘m not sure if I love or hate the ending? Set in the mid 19th cent., this is the story of Maggie Tulliver who, were she a man, would have had the education and success she deserved. She‘s smarter than her father, who favors her, and her brother, who loves her but holds her back. Phillip is her intellectual equal. Stephan I think she‘d eventually tire of…

Ruthiella @Amiable Thank you! 😊 1mo
mcctrish It should have been a story about a girl‘s triumph 1mo

Ruthiella @mcctrish It so easily could have been that. There was space for it. 1mo
eeclayton I also think Stephen would tire of her eventually, too. Once he got over the honeymoon phase, he'd may even start to blame her for lost opportunities and their situation in life. 1mo
Ruthiella @eeclayton I wonder if that‘s the reason the ending is what it is…because none of the other options were good. 1mo

Book 4 in the series and definitely better than book three. The characters were much better in this one and I felt the plot and development improved over the previous book. Not my favorite of the series but close. 3.5ish ⭐️

Murtagh: The World of Eragon | Christopher Paolini

This was an amazing read.

I had always enjoyed, during my Dragon obsession years, watching dragons. This is my first book with a deeply dragon infused storyline and I absolutely loved it.

Thorn had me smitten🐉💖, and this world is incredible!

This is a quest story. Murtagh, half-brother of Eragon, follows a path of clues that lead him to a witch who he must outwit.

👇

AnnCrystal Yet it is also a journey of healing. Murtagh's and Thorn's connection is beautiful. The traumas they experienced in their past is tragic, and their individual healing journeys are sweet.

I've never read the the Eragon books, and I was worried about being able to understand the characters and overall story. This was wonderful because it gave the info needed to be able to read as a standalone. It does hint at more books.

AnnCrystal I will certainly never imagine a mushroom forest quite the same way again 😂🍄💝.

This was not 705 pages (I read about 601 pages). There's some back content before the bonus content of this deluxe edition. About 14 pages plus 90 pages I skipped (after Murtagh gets Thorn and himself captured by the witch). This is, therefore, more of a Bitsy Chunster than a Chuckster Patite for #ChunksterChallenge2025

AnnCrystal Book Warnings ⚠️📚👇.

AnnCrystal Murtagh and Thorn have healing to do and we are shown, in small flashbacks, why. They both suffer from PTSD.

Childhood abuse and trauma.

Animal abuse.

Magically forced to serve a tyrant king. Slavery.

Imprisonment. Torture. Mental torture.

My current reads...

I've finished Murtagh, which I will review this weekend.

Just realized the book, To Shape A Dragon's Breath is 511 pages...a BitsyChunkster! It's the first book in its series.

The long awaited (for me to purchase) Bless Me, Ultima. A standalone novel.

The Third Book in the Riley Thorn mysteries.

The Sixth Book in the Old Kingdom series.

Excellent biography of Martin Luther King, Jr. that examines his full life: his beliefs, his actions, his insecurities and his failures. In other words —a portrait of a man who had his flaws like any other human, but who rose to greatness and met the moment when it mattered.

I normally zip through Douglas's books. In this one, I reached a point where I guessed what was going to happen and I couldn't finish. Therefore, I put the book down and picked it up again a couple of days ago. No surprises. Just as expected. The plot was good just predictable. 3.5🌟 #Read2025 @DieAReader At just over 500 pages this is one for #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable #AllergicToChunksters @julieclair
