This is my November real-life book club choice, & though this one won the unanimous vote, I really wanted to bail on it! The characters are all unlikable; the plot holds only one surprise. The scenes skip around disjointedly which only makes it harder to connect with this book! I thought this sounded fun, but there‘s literally nothing fun at all here! I hate to write a bad review, but hopefully that it will lead to a lively book club discussion!

cathipink Sorry this was a blerg book, but I love your shirt/blanket/fabric behind it 🙂 1mo
TorieStorieS @cathipink Thanks!! It‘s a t-shirt! Gotta sport some #bookwear! ☺️ 1mo

Happy Sat morning in Australia. How cool are my new pjs? A cold wind is blowing straight off the ocean and onto my apartment this morning so I am in bed with organic earl grey tea with milk, under 3 doonas getting a head start on my next #LMPBC. Might have a spa and sauna before yoga then a catch up with friends before a walk and some cooking, eating and drinking and perhaps movie watching. #lifeistoughformargaretmeadnotme #bfc2hasntevenstartedyet

Thanks to #NetGalley for this fascinating read!! It‘s an interesting mashup of memoir, history, behavioral research, personal anecdotes & spiritual self-help all centered around wolves- & their longstanding connection to humanity. Alfero includes myths from around the world & a lot of his personal views and beliefs. This may not appeal to everyone- but it‘s quite interesting & different from many of the #Wolf books that I‘ve read before! #bookwear

This YA thriller is a survival story post plane crash in the jungle- there are plenty of natural dangers, compounded with the drama that the group of survivors are all in high school! It‘s a #OneSittingRead from James Patterson‘s publishing imprint. It‘s lacking some supporting detail that would make this more realistic but doesn‘t want for page-turning excitement! #Bookwear

k.reads.5 Great review, this looks like a fun suspense read! 7mo
TorieStorieS @pl.2886 Thanks!! 😊 It‘s a fast and fun read! 7mo

This debut police procedural makes for an engaging and entertaining read!! Yes, some of the plot takes expected turns- but there are some genuine surprises too!! I‘m definitely looking forward to a sequel!! #BookWear

TheNerdyProfessor Have you heard if there is a planned sequel? It felt like this book wrapped up all the plot lines by the end. 1y
TorieStorieS @TheNerdyProfessor On Goodreads it‘s slated as the first in a series! 🤞🤞 1y

Whew!!!! That was INTENSE!!!! Seriously- I think this is his best yet!! And this marks the second #BookReadInOneSitting that I‘ve read today!! I was excited to use one of my new slashery bookmarks from @JoeStalksBeck but I never put this down! This was way beyond edge of your seat tense... I was literally pacing while reading!!! I was sweating in my #bookwear!! #RiotGrams @bookriot

Mehso-so

This YA novel takes place pretty much over the space of a few hours- a bombing in their high school unexpectedly brings seven very different teens together. It isn‘t terribly unpredictable but it‘s certainly fast paced! Plus my newest #bookwear arrived in the mail today! Yay!

Bianca Love that shirt! 2y

I don't think I've ever done a #recommendsday, but since Morning Star was just released in paperback, allow me to encourage everyone to read the Red Rising trilogy. The world building is incredible, the characters are engaging, and the whole thing is just bloodydamn brilliant. #breakthechains #howlers #bookwear (how cool is my new shirt?!)

DuckOfDoom What's the trilogy about? Haven't heard of it i think 3y
DGRachel @DuckOfDoom It's a dystopian scifi series where society is broken into colors, with Golds at the top of the pyramid and Reds at the bottom. Pierce Brown uses a lot of Roman references, and a majority of the action takes place on Mars. I don't want to say too much and give anything away. Trust me when I say I was never a big scifi/fantasy fan growing up, but I love this trilogy so much, and had it been out 25 years ago, it would be my fav genre. 3y
DGRachel I have a friend who is a huge scifi/fantasy fan (it's all she reads) and I recommended this to her. She absolutely loved it. 3y

DuckOfDoom @DGRachel This souns great. I don't think any bookstores here will have a copy, but i will look for it. Or maybe order it. 3y
DGRachel @DuckOfDoom I will say that each book in the trilogy is better than the one before it. The first time I read it, I thought Red Rising was so-so, but read Golden Son anyway. I nearly through GS across the room at the ending (it was that good) and cursed Pierce Brown for 13 months waiting for Morning Star, which was an emotional roller coaster. I appreciated RR so much more when I reread it. 3y
DGRachel *threw (oops...) 3y
Readingismyescape Absolutely loved this trilogy!!! @DuckOfDoom read it please 3y
