pickConsidering the topic, this was very short. It had some fascinating trails to follow up on. As a way to pique interest in the topic, it was fantastic. The end bit about people trying to outrun mortality by freezing their heads or bodies, meh. Apparently they think they will get resurrected into a grand life instead as enslaved zombies.
pickThis book sat on my shelf for a long time and had that wonderful smell by the time I got to it. Neurology is fascinating, and this book has a collection of clinical tales from the author. The severed leg story was horrifying and hilarious at the same time. Note: the author uses very ableist language throughout this book.

Maybe you recognize Smith‘s music from Good Will Hunting. I was a fan of Elliot‘s from the start and saw him several times in person. Certainly not music to dance to but music that meant a lot to me. I couldn‘t listen to his music for almost 20 years following his death because it made me so sad that he was gone. But he‘s back on my playlist.
