June 5: Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the first #lgbtqbook(s) I found that was more than subtex. It's a beautiful story about a girl who discovers her own magic and figures out how to navigate this new part of herself in her everyday life. There are several #lgbtq characters. pickThis is good ending to this series, we learn why Clow did what he did, where Sakura‘s dad is from, and discover the fate of her beloved substitute teacher. More creepy child/adult romance in this one, but if you ignore that, then it‘s still a great book.
pickThis was a series I loved as a kid and wanted to reread as I got older. This volume sees the completion of the card set, and there are serious surprises. We find out why everyone with powers is attracted to each other and meet new characters, including Sakura‘s grandfather, whom she doesn‘t know is her grandfather. This is a more Romance/pervert/female centered Pokémon style series.
