Apologies for the rubbish pic! My daughter has become obsessed with Hardy after reading Jude on holiday - just found this in local charity shop. It's lovely and illustrated 😀

DGRachel 😍😍😍 7y
batsy Looks like a lovely but hefty edition! Hardy is a #classicsTBR Someday 🙌 7y
JacqMac Beautiful! I love Hardy, too. 7y

CareBear More love for Hardy here! Great collection. 7y
quirkyreader Next thing you know she will want to read everything by Hardy in chronological order and see all of the film/TV adaptations. 7y
TrishB @quirkyreader and then she'll want to be on Litsy!! 7y
Leftcoastzen Nice find! 7y
LeahBergen Oh, it's lovely! 7y
Vansa I LOVE this book. Gabriel Oak has always been my favourite literary hero. Apart from Mr.Thornton!! Some of his most evocative writing , in my opinion. 7y

Two classics currently are languishing on my TBR. One from 2010 and one from 2006. Yikes. I should get reading.

I'm late on the #junebookbugs 😬 but this is my #classicsTBR. I watched the miniseries and I'm so intrigued by the politics of it. Is it pro-worker or pro-capitalist overlord? Like the heroine I ended up falling for the industrial boss in spite of myself. @RealLifeReading

MJSanty I think that it is about a respect and cooperation between labor and capital. Like in the film Metropolis. 8y
Caroline2 I love this mini series sooo much! Richard armitage is brilliant in it! 😍 8y
alisahar @MJSanty that sounds about right. I'd be interested to see how the book is different. @Caroline2 I loved it / Armitage too! 8y

I have had quite the stack of classics on my TBR list for a while. I hope to finish these ones this year. I don't expect that I will find all of them to be great. Some may even be frustrating to read. Of all of them A Tree Grows In Brooklyn is the one that I am the most excited to read.

alisahar I LOVE Tree Grows in Brooklyn! Now I want to reread it. 8y

#junebookbugs #classicsTBR Just a few I own and am yet to read. The two in the middle which are hard to make out are Dombey and Son by Charles Dickens, and Shirley by Charlotte Bronte.

#JuneBookBugs #day23 #ClassicsTBR While I have read some of the classics on this shelf (Wizard Of Oz, Dracula, The Secret Garden etc) most will be first time reads for me. I'm slowly collecting the ones I want to read, dymocks have a 3for$33 on penguin classics right now, but there's a lot I still want and choosing which edition is the hardest! I want Rebecca by Daphne DuMarier but do I splurge on the Folio or get the WordCloud edition?🤔

charl08 Pretty shelf! 8y
Gillyreads It's so hard to decide what editions to get for classics! 8y
minkyb That is s very tough question! 8y
elkeOriginal I anm not sure there is a Rebecca in a word cloud edition - have you seen it? I would say the Folio is gorgeous but I don't consider those reading editions. But I am a weirdo who wants to keep books pristine 😁 7y

#junebookbugs day 23 - #classicstbr

Have dipped into Russian literature here and there, but never anything like what you think when you hear "russian novel." Got a great deal on these like-new Wordsworth editions, translations that came recommended specifically.

A bit late posting this one; I finally folded and got an XBox 360 controller to play Steam games. Even old titles feel new now. Like I didn't have enough distracting me from reading.

GatheringBooks i own copies of both books but haven't cracked them open yet - hopefully I get to do it within my lifetime. (edited) 8y
