#TheBoneGarden #KateEllis

A skeleton of a corpse who has been buried alive is discovered at an excavation of the gardens of Earlsacre Hall. Det Sgt Wesley Peterson is busy trying to solve a murder of a man stabbed to death in a caravan park. Are these murders related? Solicitor Brian Willerby may have the answer. Kate Ellis brings us a mystery that seems to imitate the past. Read this to find out what it is about Earlsacre that leads to murder.

Andrew65 Think I liked this one and the series more than some others. A very typical English feel to this murder mystery series. Most US Crime is much faster paced and often more gritty. Obviously some exceptions to this on both sides of the pond. (edited) 3w
EadieB @Andrew65 The only complaint I have about her writing is that her writing does not flow well for me. 3w
Andrew65 @EadieB It might be about her use of English, because i‘ve not noticed this. 3w
EadieB @Andrew65 Yes, her language is a bit stilted. 3w

It‘s that time again. Time for the next Group Read on Librarything of book 5 in the Wesley Peterson Series - we are aiming to read the whole series (currently 23 books). This is the schedule for the Group Read. If you are Interested in joining in let me know below - they are great fun and I definitely recommend the series. A mixture of archaeology and a Modern Murder, and a back story from history.

Starting the next book in the #MrBook1inaMillion #24B4Monday Readathon. This one is Book 5 in the excellent Wesley Peterson Series - set in the south West of England where murder meets archaeology. #LitsyPartyofOne

Lynnsoprano Oh, my, that sounds like it‘s right in my wheelhouse! 4w
Andrew65 @Lynnsoprano They are well written and very enjoyable. Two chapters in and hooked! Always a bit of a historical mystery alongside a modern crime. 4w

Interesting guardian article on certain readers who are unwilling to suspend disbelief:

I really enjoyed this Amazon First choice! The WWII-era is my favorite historical time period to read about and this book gave a different perspective and story to the time.
It's a fictional story of a murder investigation in Dresden Germany as the Nazi regime falls. The characters are interesting and I honestly didn't see the ending coming!

Starting a new one...sounds interesting, one of the many free books I downloaded from Amazon, which they can be hit or miss but WW2 era books are some of my favorites so I'm optimistic!

I‘ve taken a long break from Nordic authors, but now I‘m back reading them! There are so many good ones, so it‘s hard to know which ones to read. I enjoyed the first book in the series. Set in a tiny place in Sweden a 16 yo girl goes missing. Something strange is going on, and a journalist who moved back to town wants the truth. The author is from this town, and she says that everyone living there wants her to kill someone on their home street 😂

I thoroughly recommend this series to everyone who‘s into police procedural, crime, Nordic noir, thriller, murder novels... This is the second book in the series. The main characters are so imperfect that it makes them perfect characters for a book like this. I need to move on to book number three soon!

EadieB My library has a bunch of DVD‘s and 1 book (edited) 2mo
Andrew65 Thanks for my information, my library has the first two. @EadieB (edited) 2mo
