I tried reading this when I was 8 years old. Now as an adult I'm hoping I understand it better. Just two paragraphs in and it already feels so much more relatable!

This was a bit disappointing. I found myself bored throughout most of it. Then, the way things turned out just didn't feel right. I don't quite feel like this was a solid ending to the series even though everything was wrapped up.

This one was really good. It clears up some loose ends while leading perfectly into the next book. I'm not happy with some of the twists just because it wasn't what I wanted to happen, but I think I can accept them and learn to live with them. I am far too invested in this book series and since there is only one book left, it feels a bit bitter sweet. I do know there are more companion pieces and a spinoff series, so I will have to read those.

I thought the way the last book ended was torture, yet it is nothing compared to this book. One thing I had suspected, so I wasn't too surprised. However, I did try to convince myself I was wrong. But the very last part of the book came out of nowhere. This book might be the best book of the series, but it was only because of the last 20% or so.

What was that ending?! I'm not okay with it. I'm highly uncomfortable because it's not how I wanted things to go. Anyway, this book had a lot of stuff happen in it. There is just so much to process. From here on out, I have no clue how the rest of the series will go.
I'm off to start the next book. I have to find out what is going on. I truly don't know what to expect anymore.

2✨Finished early, because I‘ve been done with it for a while. Whew! I was hoping for more storyline, but all I was really getting was facts on whaling. I‘m going to watch another review to see interpretations of others to try to have some idea of why I read what I did. Either way I read this classic so I can mark it off the bucket list and say: Yes, I did read that. 😬

Cuilin I‘m impressed, I‘ve tried this so many times and I bail before the boat ever leaves the harbor 🤦‍♀️ 8mo
Roary47 @Cuilin for me there is a moment where a character “dies” of sickness and somehow they come back to life. I guess they only thought he was dead, but really even before that I was upset that it‘s just a book of facts and thoughts. 😔 8mo
Cuilin @Roary47 so many love it. 🤷‍♀️ I may try again sometime but I‘d need a group read to help me through. 8mo
dabbe I bailed at “Call me Ishmael.“ 😃 I did read AHAB'S WIFE a few years back, and I LOVED it! I also loved BARTLEBY, THE SCRIVENER. I just don't know that I want to learn that much about whaling. I'm afraid I'm on Moby Dick's side. 8mo

I didn't care for this one as much as the others. I found I was just trying to get through it to find out what would happen next. However, toward the end, there were a lot of interesting developments.

This is still one of the weirdest series I have ever read, but it puts a smile on my face. A lot happened in this one and I could really see how it's building up the rest of the series.
