3 ⭐ A ghost loves being in the meadow, making friends collecting flowers, etc. Their dream job is to take over the haunting of a very important castle. Upon landing their dream job they do it and they love it until they realize that they‘re losing part of themselves. They need to go back to the meadow. I understand the allegory of this book. That sometimes what you dream of doing is not actually right for you. But I‘m not sure if it‘s the phrasing

LibrarianRyan or if it‘s the way it‘s written. This book makes it seem like Wolfgang went back to the meadow, but took some of the haunting stuff with them When I think a better message might have been to be able to do a little bit of both. I‘m not sure I do like the art. I‘m just not the biggest fan of the story. 1mo

Middle school scary. Just a monster-hunting ‘cemetery boy‘ that overseas his graveyard with his clandestine bestie flesh-eating mermaid friend.

Goal one: Collect the credits he receives by cashing in on the captured monsters in hopes of resurrecting his long dead mother.

I loved it! Great read to dull Election Day catastrophe blues. 😨

I don‘t want to rate this too harshly since I am not the target audience. It felt like a slog for a Middle Grade & there was no clear moral, to make it “boyish” (I guess) 1 character just said fart a lot…. Lol won‘t be a staple in my house

My view on the existence of ghosts or spirits is like my belief in God - I tend towards being agnostic in that there has been no definitive proof that God exists or doesn't exist, but like the ancient Romans believed about the gods of others, what's the harm in covering all bases just in case!

In a purely entertainment capacity, I thought this was pretty good. (continued)

OutsmartYourShelf I've never seen Mia's TV show or really read anything else about her but thought she came across quite well. The 'cases' of haunted homes were intriguing to read about although there was some repetition in what was said etc. If you're interested in the world of psychic mediums, then this would be probably be a good start. Nothing too over the top. 4🌟

The Folklore of Wales: Ghosts | Delyth Badder, Mark Norman

I had a pretty picture of this one in my living room, but then I finished it in a cute little lunch cafe on Bainbridge Island, so there you go.

I really enjoyed seeing the parallels between Welsh and other folklore I know, although I was feeling a little unsure whether all entities described really falls under the ghost umbrella. Lovely with the long Welsh passages, but some IPA to help at the start would have been a nice addition.
