If you woke up today thinking "I'd like to see a dog looking disdainful in a bookshop", then you're welcome.

RaeLovesToRead Looks like you're being judged. Are you holding an enormous stack of books? 😄 2mo
julesG 😂😂😂 Side-eye 2mo
Oryx @RaeLovesToRead I think I was being judged for taking too long. I mean, she's right, I was taking too long. 2mo

Camping this weekend and I brought along this little book to get started on planning our honeymoon trip. I'm getting excited! 8 months to go 😄
Hit me with your recs for books set in Scotland to read before our trip or places to see while we're there!

TheBookHippie How fun! 2mo
Kitta Trainspotting is a fairly obvious suggestion but it‘s a tough read as it‘s in Scot‘s dialect! Ian rankin if you like crime, Iain Banks for speculative fiction, and How to be Both by Ali Smith or Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart for literary fiction! I used to live in Scotland and it was amazing. Have a great time! 2mo
Kitta Oh wait How to be both is just by a Scottish author not set in Scotland 😆 2mo

Kitta Most of Ali Smith‘s books are set in Cambridge, where she lives 2mo
peanutnine @Kitta oooh thank you!!! 2mo
vonnie862 We did Scotland last summer and loved it! How long are you going to be there? 2mo
peanutnine @vonnie862 two weeks! 2mo
vonnie862 @peanutnine that's how long I was there for and did so much. If you're interested in my itinerary, you can email me. My email is my litsy handle plus Gmail dot com. 2mo
peanutnine @vonnie862 that's awesome! Thank you 😊 2mo

Bookwomble We went to Arran a couple of years ago, which was lovely, particularly if you have time for a walk around the adjacent Holy Island, with its Buddhist monastery and rock paintings. 4mo
Jemmygem And we leave in two days. Yawhoo 2w

Pretty good history but several pages were missing from my copy. It helped me to learn more about places I missed on my two-day visit this summer. I have to go back there!

I am starting this one with a new appreciation for this city.

Leftcoastzen I read it years ago , SF has an interesting history, I can‘t remember if he writes about Emperor Norton or not, what a character! 9mo
KCofKaysville @Leftcoastzen Thanks I will look for that! 9mo

I‘m off to Egypt in September 2024 so I‘m doing some research! I‘m being a bit cheeky and I‘ve actually picked 2 songs. Walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles and All over the world by ELO.
I love #titlesandtunes, it‘s so much fun! ♥️

I worked from home today, and in the spirit of summer Fridays, I'm done.

I haven't had much time this week to read, so I'm going to try reading a good chunk of this one, in between laundry, dishes, and pushing for another work trip.
I am literally cleaning work clothes from a brief trip Sun-Wed this week to bring with me to Columbus, OH on Sunday.

Kelly's random travel tip: Bring the stuff you wear most often & you're likely to wear it.
