Rage | Bob Woodward

Pickpick

I finished this last week but wanted to see the debate before reviewing. Posted it yesterday, since this week was 🍌👖. Woodward is objective and highly skilled. Having 17 interviews with 45 makes this different than other books about his administration. Not surprisingly, Woodward struggles to wrangle him. Still, those few unvarnished moments are chilling and worth it.

Susanita 🍌 👖 indeed 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Susanita Right? The quickest way I could say it! 4y
Hooked_on_books I haven‘t read this and won‘t, as I‘m burned out on books about this man. However, I appreciate Woodward‘s thorough recording and reporting for posterity. I know he‘s backed everything up with extensive recordings—vital for an administration that lies constantly. 4y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Hooked_on_books I think this will be my last one about him specifically. For a long while. I understand your desire to move on! I did see an interesting article in WaPo today about the books “of the era” that aren‘t specifically about him. I sure have bought a lot of them and read many but not all. 4y
TheBookHippie @BarbaraTheBibliophage it‘s sitting here I just don‘t know if I can read it maybe November 4.. 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TheBookHippie I hear you. I‘m glad I got it done before this latest round of wild events. 4y
TheBookHippie @BarbaraTheBibliophage It just defies all rational reality 🤬 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TheBookHippie Sure does! I‘m just going to focus on textbanking my little heart out for Dem candidates from top to bottom! 4y
TheBookHippie @BarbaraTheBibliophage my daily task as well 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TheBookHippie Yay! Who are you texting with? I‘m going through Indivisible. 4y
TheBookHippie @BarbaraTheBibliophage Emily‘s list a few times, I joined the stacks when she did it but generally planned parenthood . 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TheBookHippie That‘s terrific! Thank you for volunteering! 4y

Haven‘t posted a #bookreport or #weeklyforecast in an age. And it was a GOOD reading week and month.

#ARC - Knock at Midnight and Our Malady (both excellent) & User‘s Guide to Democracy
#readblackauthors - Knock, Hood Feminism, Passing, Proof of Love (also all excellent)
#indigenousauthor #nonfictionnerds - Braiding Sweetgrass (lovely)
#irlbookgroup - White Fragility
#bottomofmyTBR: Autobiography of a Yogi
#litsypolitico - Unbelievable

LiteraryinLawrence That‘s awesome, Barbara! 4y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen It was a good month - 13 total plus two Audible Originals. Heavy choices though, man ... 4y
Cinfhen I noticed there wasn‘t any fluff in this bunch 🤪 4y

Starting this Stacey Abrams book in earnest today. The “they” in the quote above is her parents, in relation to their experiences voting as Black citizens in the South.
