I have mixed feelings about this book. This is the end of a trilogy within a series; starting with Natchez Burning 3 years back, The Bone Tree followed in 2015 and I've eagerly awaited the conclusion in this captivating story of race and murder In Natchez Mississippi in the 1960's. Of course it's so much more than a thriller. Natchez Burning is probably one of the best books I've ever read and I'm sure ill still be saying the same in 20 years 👇🏼

DeborahSmall A lot of reviews have said this was the best in the trilogy/series but I definitely disagree. Yes we got the answers that so many of us have been waiting 3 years for. But it lacked the action of the first 2 books. I'm not a fan of courthouse dramas and most of this was based in the courtroom, it had to be, and I still loved finally learning the truth and having all the pieces of the puzzle fit nicely together. I think the book could be longer.... 8y
DeborahSmall I know 704 pages is already a good sized book but parts of the story were rushed or favourite characters weren't given the same 'air time'. Probably a big part of me just didn't want this fascinating story to end. I learned so much about the civil rights movement and a lot more. Everyone needs to read Natchez Burning. This is also my 'M' in the #LitsyAtoZ challenging and my bingo #LitsyRC8 for over 400 pages ❤️📚 8y
DivineDiana You've convinced me! And your nails are divine! 8y
TrishB I'm still a bit behind on these! But it sounds like it's still worth pursuing! 8y
Reecaspieces This whole series is amazing. I think the bone tree was my fav...but they all are exceptional 8y

Huh? I'm not sure what to say... It was okay? I finished it rather quickly? But I had heard so many great things, I wanted to love it. I wanted it to be something special and well it just wasn't (for me & I'm definitely in the minority on this one) 😯 To me, the characters were flat, the story had nothing really new and felt forced and the whole thing just left me underwhelmed. #litsyAtoZchallenge #A #doorstopper #LitsyRC8

mswriterlygirl I totally agree. I listened to the audio book, terrible decision. It took me three months to finish it. 8y

Man, this was an undertaking for me! Such wonderfully flawed characters. I'm thinking of writing my first actual review in a long time to post on goodreads. I mean, I have tabs haha

Pulled all my books starting with -A- and decided to give, Against The Day, a shot. It was a gift and I'm not sure if I'm a Pynchon type person yet 👀 #litsyAtoZchallenge #A #doorstopper #LitsyRC8

Maude I will have to pull a different -A- book, sadly I bailed on, Against the Day, a bit too much for me. 8y

544 pages of solid space-y goodness, as usual from the Corey team. And at 544 pages, that's one for the #litsychallenge2017 #litsyrc8 "over 400 pages" category.
