The book is also popular by the name "UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN".the reason I picked it up was cause.. Mystery,Thrill & New Culture through the popular Japanese author Keigo Higashino.
What I really loved was the in detail description of scenes and events the way the characters timeline is followed through.Even though it's a translation it's very true and beautiful to the core. Will definitely be reading more books by the same author.
Has anyone read this?! It‘s so good but so dark! You just have to talk about it with someone. I really enjoyed Higashino‘s later books starring Detective Galileo, but he really hones his craft in this earlier work.

Looking forward to this Japanese murder mystery on this weekend of social distancing.
I know it‘s not a book, but this was the first thing I thought of for #Mask
I‘ve actually never see the film.

The criminal is not difficult to guess but the story focuses on the ‘why‘ and ‘how‘. It follows 2 persons linked by an unsolved crime for over 20 yrs, other ruthless crimes that occur around them, and a detective who never gave up on the initial case. It boasts a wide cast of characters but things come together at the end. An intricate maze of a mystery with well done translation that delves deep into the human psyche make this a terrific read.
#currentread . I‘m liking the complexity of the story. Despite the wide cast of characters (story spans 20 yrs) and the length of the novel (539 pgs), it‘s holding my interest. I think I‘m liking it better than Devotion Of Suspect X.
Photo shows the sun this afternoon. We‘ve been plagued by unhealthy air for the past wk due to a long-standing cross-border haze issue with a neighbouring country. Haze is so bad, pic reminds me of the tagged book.
Look what the mailman brought me today *_* Very excited for this one! #readaroundtheworld #thriller #misterynovel
Living on this side of the world, there‘s plenty of sunshine and rain, and without doubt #icanseethesuninlatedecember but witnessing the sun at midnight during the summer in either the Arctic or Antarctic would be spectacular and an amazing experience!
I‘ve read and liked two Higashino books this year and I‘m planning to read more by him. Been wanting to read this.
