I love Lucy Score so I'm glad I got the ARC from Bloom Books.

I started snort laughing when Riley‘s octogenarian roommates all started taking turns using the stair lift to get to the third floor where the crime scene was…just in time to challenge “the po po” as the police showed up. When the cops asked them to wait elsewhere, Mrs. Penny said: “Why don‘t you make me, 5.0?” By then I was laughing out loud. 🤣 I‘m new to Lucy Score but after 3 books I know she‘s good for a laugh. 😆 Many laughs. 😂🤭
PI Kelly is hired 3years after Governor Perry disappeared on the day he was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Kelly is supposedly supposed to find Perry, but immediately Kelly‘s inquiries put him into danger.
I didn't realize it was a short story collection, until the 'second chapter' made no sense. As with every short story book, a few great ones but most just OK.
A nice little mystery with plenty of twists and turns. I knew their guy wasn‘t their guy, but that didn‘t change much. Plenty of red herrings and no loose ends! I‘ll be looking for more Matt Goldman books. I enjoy his writing style and diction.
Book #11 in 2023
Reading some short stories while my boyfriend is playing games. Those are only a small part of my TBR piles 😅
5 years already! Though I haven't been actively posting the last 2 to 3 years, I have been lurking and love looking at all your bookish posts 🤩

There were parts of this I really liked and other parts that just didn‘t work for me. It reminded me so much of Stephanie Plum which I love, but I wanted a lot more with the relationship between Nick and Riley and I just thought the story could have been done better. I may get to the next book at some point, but there are other books by this author I want to get to first!
I will always be tempted to read a book with this style of classic pulp art on the cover. #knife #Scarathlon2022 #ScarathlonDailyPrompt #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious @Clwojick
It‘s too hot to stay inside an AC free building. This seems about right to reread during a heatwave 🥵
