I loved this memoir of a truly remarkable woman who knew early on that focusing on helping others was the way to go. All the respect to her! Now I need to find a copy of her latest! #bookspin

TheBookHippie I just picked this up at the library used bookstore! 2w

Hey y‘all, last month I didn‘t get a chance to read much because I had a lot going on. Work was crazy, I was dealing with the loss and I was planning my trip to Puerto Rico. Just got back last Tuesday and I have to say I cannot wait to go again. It was beautiful and everybody there was so amazing. I did take a book to read, but the weather was against me and I lost it to the rain gods. However, here‘s a few pics of the trip I wanted to share.

CSeydel Looks like a great trip! 5mo
Roary47 I‘m sorry about your book, but glad you had a great time! 💛 5mo

Book #1 of 2025: “Bodega Dreams” by Ernesto Quiñonez

Set in Spanish Harlem, this novel centers on a fictional radical named Willy Bodega and his plans to improve the quality of life for his fellow Puerto Ricans. It‘s told from the perspective of a young man in the neighborhood who gets caught up in Bodega‘s work. It‘s a fast read and I enjoyed it.

I've been super under the weather for about a month. I am so behind on reading! I've mostly been rewatching Gilmore girls and Bones.

Friendship. Destruction. Demons of the storm & sea. If Stand by Me were set in Puerto Rico during a hurricane...and there was a monster. One of the best books I read this year! #noir #horror #friendship

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

It has definitely been the autumn of the audio YA. I promise I‘ve read some books written for grown-ups, too. 😆 I LOVED this one. Emoni is a strong, well-written character - a single teen mom trying to figure out her future. I loved her voice and her journey of following her dreams, however difficult, and learning how to balance them with her reality. Highly recommended!
