Been wanting to read this epic tale but still waiting to be in the right mood to fully enjoy the writing. And I‘m still looking through different translations to find the one that suit me. I don‘t want to rush but slowly enjoy every details of it .
Are you picky when it comes to translation too? Or just me?

Caroline2 Yes!! I read this awesome article in The Guardian about different translations of Russian novels. Fascinating!! Now I do my research and google the book and different versions to see what people say. 👍🏻 5y

Reminded me of this #Fantasy series & first book I‘ve read by VE Schwab. About parallel Londons including Red, Grey & Black London. I was hooked by her writing & magical world building but most of all the characters she created! You might get hooked by the adventure but stay for the villains you‘d end up rooting for!

Sweetkokoro I have to say I like these covers so much more then the usual ones I see floating around at my B&N. I have yet to read it, but I feel I would be more enticed if I had seen these versions on the shelf. 5y

I almost picked a different book and then I saw this and was like yah we are doing that. This is actually my sisters volume and it‘s gorgeous. The story is also super amazing, Bloody and gruesome and just all around great. I originally read it online but having this volume around is so much better.

Blueberry @Crazeedi Thanks for asking. I met with a friend today for lunch and bible study and had a great discussion. I'm doing okayyy with my mom passing. My dad also died last year at this time also. That one still gets me sad. It was a stressful trying year with a lot of angry people and lack of communication. Not a happy way for anyone to spend their end time. 5y
