Tickets booked!

Any #LondonLittens like to join me? I‘ve recently been #rediscoveringatwood so perfect timing - thanks Margaret for working with my schedule! 👏🏼

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego That would be amazing. 7y
Mitch I know @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I‘ve seen her once before, a long time back - but she was just one of a panel.. This is a whole damn Atwood fest! (edited) 7y
britt_brooke Ooh! 7y

laurieluna That looks fantastic! Sadly that day is my son's 3rd birthday. Have a great time! 7y
Alfoster Jealous!😍👏👏👏 7y
Oryx Sounds so good. Can't make it unfortunately. I saw her once before in Manchester, she was fabulous (of course). 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker Awesome! So jealous. 7y
Bookworm-Bobbie I actually already have tickets for this and I‘m so freaking excited! She‘s my total fave! 7y

Pickpick

A good collection of #poetry as well as an excellent opportunity to read Atwood's immaculate writing. These lines stood out to me for some reason. #rediscoveringatwood

Lcsmcat I liked this section too. 5y

Just finished book 1 of the trilogy - SO excited to see this! Paramount TV & Anonymous Content have won a bidding war for the Trilogy. Guess it won‘t be for a while & it might not even happen, but there‘s hope! #rediscoveringatwood

SmallestAct I was planning on reafing Maddadam soon, but your comment made me realise I have two other books to read before that! I didn't know it was a trilogy, I feel ignorant, but happy to know there is more Atwood in store for me! 7y
Mitch Absolutely @SmallestAct I‘ve only just read part 1 - always good to know there‘s more wonderful Atwood to discover! 7y

This is my first #24in48 ! I'm not sure I can complete it but it seems fun to try. Here are most of my options, plus some audiobooks. Anyone have tips or something you wish you'd known for your first #24in48 #readathon ? Thanks! 😊
#rediscoveringatwood

swishandflick My tip would be to definitely use those audiobooks! That always helps me, so I don't feel burnt out. And then I'm able to get laundry done, etc. while listening 😄 (edited) 7y
Kristy_K Agree with @swishandflick. Also have a variety of genres and mediums (eg. fiction, non-fiction; prose, poetry, graphic novels). 7y
UrsulaMonarch @swishandflick thanks! Yeah I read someone say that their eyes hurt during this!! 😬audiobooks seem helpful to prevent burnout! 7y

UrsulaMonarch @Kristy_K good idea thanks! That reminds me to pull out some comics! And I'm trying to vary tones - I have some heavy stuff so I also have 7y
BookishMe If you are beginning with Shanbhag, awesome start as it's fast yet gripping read! 7y
Sharanya Omg Who Fears Death is AMAZING! 😍😭 7y
UrsulaMonarch @Sharanya ooo good to know!! I'll bump that one up 😄 7y
UrsulaMonarch @BookishMe that's actually my one reread! I think it'll be interesting the second time around! 😄 7y
the.bookish.valkyrie Audiobooks help so much! Listen as you do other things to help with restlessness and it keeps you clock running! 7y
UrsulaMonarch @ValkyrieAndHerBooks thanks! That makes sense... and I'm trying to get into more audiobooks, so this is a good opportunity! ☺️ 7y
the.bookish.valkyrie Oh! And make sure you take frequent screenshots of your timer in case it accidentally gets reset! Mine does that all the time! 7y
UrsulaMonarch @ValkyrieAndHerBooks *Thanks!* I'd been wondering about that - if it happens, do you just manually add the hours up at the end? 7y
the.bookish.valkyrie That‘s what I did. And I combined the screenshots into one pic using Layout. When I submitted my completed form. 7y
UrsulaMonarch @ValkyrieAndHerBooks thanks!!😊 very helpful info 👍 7y

My reading has been derailed time and again by real life as of late, so I am PUMPED for #24in48 this weekend! This eclectic stack should help get me started, but no shelf or box is off limits. I can‘t wait!

#readathon

LeahBergen I love that teacup 💕 7y
saresmoore @LeahBergen I do, too! The artist just so happens to be named Leah! 😍 7y
readordierachel I didn't realize The Glass Town Game was such a chunkster! 7y

saresmoore @ReadOrDieRachel Right? It‘s quick, though. I started it and then decided I wanted to save it for the Readathon because it‘ll be a fun & engaging read. 7y
ohyeahthatgirl I really liked The Middlesteins. Just put it on a Blind Date With a Boom display at my bookstore! 7y
ohyeahthatgirl Lol, book. Hopefully ppl are getting boom for their bucks though? 7y
saresmoore @ohyeahthatgirl 😂 I see what ya did there! I‘m glad to hear you liked it. @vivastory really enjoyed it, too—seemed like a good pick for a readathon. 7y
Lindy You‘ve got one in your stack that‘s smart, funny and quick to read: 7y
Moray_Reads I can't wait (even if it does start at 5am over here) 7y
Kalalalatja @Moray_Reads it is 6 am in Denmark. But if there is something I‘m willing to get up early for, it is a readathon 😄 7y
Moray_Reads @Kalalalatja me too. And I have Monday off work in case I need recovery time 😉 7y
Kalalalatja @Moray_Reads I have planned a very low key study day on Monday, so I‘m good to go too! 7y
vivastory @Moray_Reads Are you going to wake up at 5 to start? 7y
Moray_Reads @vivastory I'm thinking about it. I have a pretty ace body clock so if I tell myself to wake up at 5 I probably will. If I don't I'm sure I can make up a couple of hours later 😉 7y
vivastory @Moray_Reads I'm impressed! I'm hoping to do the full 24 hours. I still need to figure out my snack situation & my tbr. I'm thinking of adding 7y
Leniverse I'm going to do a midnight start (and finish) my time zone. (The rules say that's ok.) 5am start is challenging enough, but a 5am end Monday morning is a big nope! 7y
Moray_Reads @vivastory love Un Lun Dun, so clever and fun 7y
Moray_Reads @Leniverse absolutely! I'm only contemplating it because I don't have work! 7y
UrsulaMonarch @Lindy ooo! This is on my TBR mainly for #rediscoveringatwood but I didn't know it was a quick read! 👍 7y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads @Kalalalatja It sounds like you both have a brilliant plan! Even though I‘m in the 24in48 time zone, I‘m an old lady who can‘t stay up past 10pm so I‘ll be waking early to get started, too. 7y
saresmoore @Lindy That‘s what I like to hear! 7y
saresmoore @vivastory I‘ve been wanting to read Un Lun Dun, too. This would be a good time to give it a go! 7y
emilyhaldi Some nice chunksters in that stack! 7y
saresmoore @emilyhaldi I plan to fully immerse myself. My husband is on full-time dad & cooking duty all weekend! 🙌😁 7y
batsy What an incredible combination of books! My weekend has turned out to be unexpectedly busy 😕 7y
saresmoore @batsy Oh, that‘s disappointing! I hope you‘ll at least be able to grab some moments of rest, here and there. 7y

This book has some many interesting tidbits & thoughts from Atwood! I love how she cited the old cleaning product on the right as inspiration for the handmaids' outfits #rediscoveringatwood

Mitch Stacked! @UrsulaMonarch I love reading ‘behind the scenes‘ type things. Thanks so much for pointing me in this direction! #rediscoveringatwood 7y
UrsulaMonarch @Mitch wonderful & you're welcome! This has a lot of writing on various topics so I'd recommend skipping around to parts you're interested in. Also apparently the ebook has some artwork not present in the paperbook!? 7y

I like poems about bears! #rediscoveringatwood (sorry this is not the deepest post!)

Lcsmcat Her repetition of «big paw big paw big paw big paw» really made me see a bear plodding off into the woods! 5y

So excited to be starting this trilogy. #rediscoveringatwood

readordierachel It's so good! 7y
Mitch I‘ve read all the early Atwood and then I think I just moved on in my reading and never got to read these later ones. So having just re read The Handmaid and Alias Grace, I‘m super excited to read something I‘ve never read before. So glad it‘s good 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 7y
