Emmeline lives on an island with her father & their collection of scent papers of far off lands. When the papers start losing their scents, Emmeline must learn the truth about her father, his work, & her life.

This was a gorgeously written novel. My mom has synesthesia, so I loved how scents were used so powerfully. The last third lost my interest for a bit, & the ending felt a little abrupt. & I felt the epilogue was unnecessary. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Took me a while to get into the story the first time I listened, but I did eventually get sucked into it, and then had to listen again from the beginning to catch what I missed the first time around. Good story, but I wanted more of an epilogue.

I loved this book. It was so magical, whimsical, and beautifully written. This world moves too fast sometimes and this book really reminds us all to slow down and smell the roses. 5/5

As someone who loves scents that evoke memories or happy places, I really wanted to like this book, but it fell flat for me. The storyline was all over the place. That being said, I really liked the characters.
