Book 4 in the Agatha Raisin series (#SeriesLive2024) was another hoot. Agatha is up to her old antics again, but there is substantial movement in her relationship with James. On to the next…

When I checked this book out of my local library, I didn't realize it was two books in one until I almost got finished with the first story. The first story: The Jailhouse Lawyer involved a lawyer who became a public defender in a small town. She soon realizes that there is evil in the town. The second story: Power of Attorney involves a lawyer that left her small town for a big city. She returns home because her ⬇️

I liked the fact that both books had strong female characters. Neither of them took crap from anyone. They stood for what was right even when it was hard. Two good legal thriller reads.

😊Happy Reading 😊 #readaway2024 #serieslive2024

Finished last night for #BobWhiteBuddies this is a pick in terms of story about a potential poacher on the Wheeler property & I enjoyed the humor in “boy crazy” Trixie but I did forget about the dated gender roles & all the times a derogatory racist term for Native American women appear in this one. It was originally published in 1950 but it still made me wince (A LOT). 😵‍💫

Using this for today‘s #AboutABook ⬇️

DebinHawaii …prompt #YouFinishedIn1Day as these books are quick reads & I started & finished last night. 3mo

TheAromaofBooks Haven't (re)read this one yet, so I'm interested to see how it goes. I feel like the racist term may be employed in multiple books though 😬 3mo

The first Sherlock Holmes (#SeriesLive2024) and how can you go wrong. Doyle does an excellent job setting up the relationship between Holmes and Watson (and subsequently their relationship with Scotland Yard), as well as giving us an intriguing mystery. The second half of the book doesn‘t work quite as well, but it serves its purpose. Looking forward to reading the canon with #NoPlaceLikeHolmes

1st book in the Andy Carpenter series (#SeriesLive2024). This was a bit of a wild ride. I look forward to reading more in this series. Reminds me a bit of the old McBride movies starring John Larroquette.

TheSpineView Love finding a new series to read. Great job!📖📚📚 8mo
Mollyanna @TheSpineView Me too! Unfortunately I‘m better at finding new series than finishing ones I‘ve started 🤣 8mo
