#readlesmis @TheBookHippie

First published in 1862, LES MIS is one of the most ambitious and influential novels in world literature that explores poverty, justice, and redemption in post-revolutionary France. The story centers on Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who rebuilds his life through compassion, while being relentlessly pursued by the rigid Inspector Javert. ⬇️

dabbe Through characters like Fantine, Cosette, and Gavroche, Hugo presents a powerful portrait of human suffering and resilience. The novel‘s greatest strength is its emotional depth and moral complexity. Hugo vividly exposes social injustice and the harsh realities of life for the poor, while emphasizing the possibility of personal transformation. However, the book‘s immense length and frequent historical and philosophical digressions can slow ... ⬇️ 2d

Despite these potential drawbacks for some, LES MISERABLES remains a major work of world literature, valued for its enduring themes and powerful human stories.

I absolutely loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don‘t go up against Ben Hope or you‘ll all be biting the dust. One of my favourite characters and series.

jenniferw88 I love this series but for some reason stopped reading them. I've now forgotten where I'd got up to & Goodreads is no help because I wasn't tracking my reading when I read them! 😂😂😂 7y
Mdargusch Another series I‘m not familiar with! #somanybookstoolittletime 7y
Andrew65 @jenniferw88 Oh no! 😔 I recently read a book in the Montalbano Series and when got 90% checked and seemed so familiar. Guess what I‘d already read it three years before. 😂 I agree, this is an excellent series. 👍 7y
Andrew65 @Mdargusch Well worth reading. 😊 7y
Reviewsbylola It‘s so awesome when you fall in love with a series that has a ton of books! 7y

Educated: A Memoir | Tara Westover

Pickpick

I don‘t always love memoirs, being a firm fiction reader over non-fiction, but this one was very good. I was beyond frustrated with Tara‘s younger self and her inability to think for herself. It really drove home how scary it is to grow up in a family with a zealot as a parent. It also showcases how mental illness can harm an entire family. It‘s truly amazing she became the woman and writer that she did. Recommend! #fallvibes #sundaymorning

Zelma Gorgeous view! 😍 7y
Mdargusch So pretty. I‘m struggling with all the abuse in this book. I feel like moving on. #somanybookstoolittletime 7y
