The final prompt

Summer fun: pass the tag on.

I have enjoyed doing the #summerreaderstag. I was inspired by Bookable on YouTube. I would love to see other Littens do this tag, so I‘m tagging anyone who wants to do it! I broke this challenge into a daily photo challenge but you could do it anyway you want to! It‘s about having fun! All I ask is if you do it tag me @megzlynn so I can see your answers!

Today‘s Prompt

BBQ: pick a book where a character was portrayed as a hunk.

A Court of Mist and Fury was an obvious choice. I mean there is Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel. Can‘t get much more attractive.

Today‘s Prompt

Sun Hat: choose a book with a vast universe/big setting.

City of Bones is just the start of a series with a vast universe. I can‘t wait to explore the rest. The picture is not mine. I found it on Google. I don‘t own a sun hat apparently. 😂😂😂

Today‘s Prompt

Watermelon: pick a book with a juicy secret.

I couldn‘t think of a better book to fit this prompt. You‘ll have to read it to find out the secret. 😉

Also, how fitting is it that i just picked a watermelon fresh from the garden? Can‘t wait to eat it. 🍉

Godpants Guess I need to just blast another hundo pages tonight. 5y
BooknerdsLife I love this!!!! 😂😂👏🏼💖🍉 5y
TheAromaofBooks I'm jealous of your watermelon-growing skills! I've had poor luck with them in the past, but yours looks beautiful! 5y

Today‘s Prompt

Green Grass:pick a book with characters that were full of life, making you smile.

I smiled the entire time reading this book. It does have its moments of suspense but the characters are so fun. They have a great dynamic. It‘s a character driven book for sure.

Today‘s Prompt

Beach Sand: pick a books that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.

I had highs hopes for The Missing Season, but so far it‘s my least favorite of the year. The focus was so much on the love interest that the mystery and evil character was barely discussed.

Today‘s Prompt

Tree shade: pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character is introduced.

There are tons of shady characters introduced in Sawkill Girls. However, I‘m not going to say who because I don‘t want to spoil anything.

brit91 Beautiful picture!😍📚 5y
Vivlio_Gnosi On a scale of 1-10, how hard is it not to mention ANY characters?? 5y
wildwoodreads @brit91 Thanks! ❤️ 5y
wildwoodreads @Vivlio_Gnosi 10. I want to say so many things, but I also don‘t want to ruin the book. This is a story where even the smallest details spoil it and it‘s killing me. 😂 5y
Vivlio_Gnosi Ahhhhh!!! That's the worst! 🤐 stay strong! Haha 💪 5y

Today‘s Prompt

Tropical Flowers: pick a book set in a foreign country.

I chose the tagged book because it‘s set in England. I didn‘t enjoy this very much. I hated the main characters, among other things. I have done a full review of it on my profile. It is a pretty book I just wish Target hadn‘t ruined it with their sticker. 🙄

Reagan I thought the cover was the best thing about that book 😂 5y

Today‘s Prompt

Golden Sunshine: pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.

Today‘s choice might be a bit controversial. Many people didn‘t like this one. This book didn‘t move the plot forward very much, but after the tragic events that took place in the previous books it was nice to see them rest. The friendship and dynamic between the group is what made me smile.

#summerreaderstag

bookishbitch I really enjoyed this one as well. 5y
SilverShanica I really enjoyed this one. I think it did help transition the overall storyline, as the next book will make a bit of a turn in comparison to the first 3 and this one helped preface everything so that we the audience know where every sits with our favourite characters, as well as giving us even more depth to the characters that we would otherwise miss out on. 5y

Today‘s Prompt

Lemonade: pick a book that started off bitter but got better.

For me that was the tagged book. I really did not like the first half. I considered dnfing it several times. Halfway through it picked up and I enjoyed it. The ending even made me tear up.

#summerreaderstag

KathyWheeler I read a book of hers that I hated and, even though she‘d been a summer read go-to author for me for years, I‘ve had trouble trusting her ever since. 5y
wildwoodreads This was my first by her. While I enjoyed the ending it still was not a favorite read. I‘m not sure I‘ll pick up another book by her. It‘s just not my usual taste. 5y
marleed The more I think about this book the less I like it. @Bakingbookworm and I discussed and she used the term ‘shoehorned‘ to describe pushing all those historical events of 1969 into one family. I agree and think it‘s a flipped way to use historical fiction as a genre and I‘m not really a fan of that. 5y
Bakingbookworm @marleed Elin Hilderbrand tends to be a hit or miss for me. Unfortunately, with all the ‘shoehorning‘ of events, this was just an ok read for me. I expected a lot more. 5y
wildwoodreads @marleed @Bakingbookworm I love both of your comments. Such great points. I expect a lot more as well. When I read the synopsis I thought it would be a favorite of the year and I was truly disappointed. 5y
