Playing catch up with #TheColorPurple this week. I've never actually read this classic, but I have seen the movie from the 80s, so I kinda know what to expect. My heart goes out for poor Celie and her life - which was sadly more of a reality than we think back then.

I would give this 6/5 stars if that was a thing. I have made an effort this year to read books by POC and basically anyone who isn‘t a cis hereto white man. I‘ve read some really powerful books. But this book, this I felt in my soul. I read the final pages through tears in my eyes. This book will sit with me for a very long time. It is *so* *so* good. #thecolorpurple
