#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.55-57: Celaena has finally faced her past and is able to tell her story. She is healing and moving past her grief. Some of that has to do with Rowan and the bond that has built - too bad he is enslaved to Maeve. She could command him to kill Celaena and he‘d have no choice. That‘s dangerous. And Maeve will not want such a powerhouse as a potential rival. I sense bad things in the future with Maeve. ⬇️

StayCurious It‘s too bad Chaol and Dorian are still at such odds. But I think they are at such odds and have such different beliefs - they are no longer the children they once were. But you‘d think they would realize they share a common enemy enough to work together. Do you think destroying a tower will make a difference? If so…let‘s goooo. 1d
BarkingMadRead Maeve makes me so nervous! She may not like how powerful Caelena has gotten 1d
See All 6 Comments
mcctrish @BarkingMadRead same!!!! She‘s not going to like Celeana one bit! I don‘t understand why Chaol and Dorian are still at odds - they both kept secrets, they‘ve both come clean, they have a common enemy 1d
Laughterhp I‘m going to have a hard time not reading ahead now that I‘m caught up! I hope Chaol and Dorian can settle their differences and work together. Sounds like destroying a tower should work! 1d
Littlewolf1 In my head, I keep chanting… I can keep to the schedule,I can keep to the schedule, I can keep to the schedule… yet somehow it keeps changing to..I can finish it in one night! No worries, I‘m still sticking to three at night. The connection between Rowan and Aline is amazing. I‘m also glad that Chaol and Dorian seem to be on the mend. Wishing we had a little witch action in here though. 20h

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.52-54: wow what a chapter 54 was - SJM can sure write impactful scenes! Seeing just some of the people Celaena has lost - and what she went through as a girl - it shows how strong she really is. I‘d be in a mental institution - hands down. And once we get more Sam scenes in the prequel novellas - I‘m going to be gutted. ⬇️

StayCurious We were shown the real villains of the piece - the Valg. I‘m sure they will play a key role in this series. Especially since they can inhabit a person‘s body. Could someone be taken over without anyone knowing? 2d
BarkingMadRead Omg that whole plot the king put together to kill them all is insane 2d
See All 9 Comments
StayCurious @BarkingMadRead very Game of Thrones I thought 2d
mcctrish The king has Long Game! Did he know it was her, Aelin, as his Champion? 2d
StayCurious @mcctrish my guess is he knows almost everything. Somehow. He‘s brilliant and conniving. 2d
Butterfinger Not only does she write amazing action, but she also creates characters that become my favorites. 2d
Laughterhp These chapters were so good! Doesn‘t surprise me about the king but so diabolical! I really liked seeing into her past. 2d
Littlewolf1 Crying, who‘s crying… I‘m not crying! OK well maybe I got a little emotional during the last chapter. Reliving her memories and then facing the people that she loved that she felt like she failed was insane. But to face herself and accept herself was pretty bad ass. 2d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 ch.49-51: Man, Celaena seems to get betrayed a lot. I wonder who turned on them and gave Narrok‘s forces the edge. Here‘s hoping all that fire training will help her against those creatures. And finally, after the slave massacre, Dorian seems to realize his father is literally the worst. But he knows that he must remain heir to make things change. ⬇️

StayCurious What he needs to do is assassinate the king but the king seems to always be one step ahead so that may be a bad plan. 4d
LiseWorks I felt bad for Dorian. What to do? And now the fight begins! 4d
See All 7 Comments
mcctrish I want to know who betrayed them! It has to be a character we‘ve met? Chaol and Dorian‘s stories seem so lame compared to Celaena and the witches but I still don‘t understand why the king just lets Chaol do whatever 3d
Butterfinger I'm on the edge of my seat. Aedion was so pitiful. The pretense. The guilt. 3d
Littlewolf1 Oh man, how did I get off track here. Seriously thought I was doing three a day, but apparently I read an extra two chapters somewhere… Lol. 3d
BarkingMadRead Ong this betrayer better not wreck me. And this is getting harder to put down. I have a feeling I‘ll be done by Tuesday, and only because I have a busy Monday 🤣 3d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.46-48: I think we all know how bad the King of Adarlan is. But killing every slave in those labour camps - the brutality is unthinkable. And what is his endgame? Adarlan is in charge but soon will have no people to rule over. And now the revenue from those labour camps is gone. It‘s hard to fathom such cruelty. ⬇️

StayCurious Celaena was already going to kill him but now I think she‘ll have a lot of help from those around her. But first, save the Demi fae and the fortress! Here‘s hoping Maeve lets Rowan stay and fight. 4d
mcctrish The king is just burning it all to the ground proving he‘s insane 4d

5feet.of.fury @mcctrish agree, so over the top. But Vengeance is coming 🔥🔥🔥 hopefully this snaps the boys out of their complacency 4d
BarkingMadRead This was way over the top, how could he benefit from this? 4d
Littlewolf1 I forgot how heartbreaking the series was, and again I‘m reminded why I had to read other books during the series. It absolutely wrecks my soul to think about how many people were just massacred, and how devastated the people left behind must feel. I know it‘s fiction but I feel this. And it also reminds me that despite being fiction, things like this happen when people seek power and control. It‘s not just in stories. 4d
Butterfinger Rowan showed some humility when telling Aelin. At the beginning, he would have used the knowledge to make her mad. @Littlewolf1 you are right. 4d
LiseWorks I'm not sure this was a good plan to kill them all. 4d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.43-45: our characters are putting together all the evil things the king is up to. He‘s creating monsters to build his army. And he‘s planning to attack Wendlyn soon. But how can they be warned? And does Aedion even want to considering they failed to help Terrasen. We also see tension between Abraxos and even the thirteen and Manon‘s grandmother. They are loyal to Manon more than her. Does the grandmother know this?

BarkingMadRead Omg Abraxos‘ reaction to the grandmother was priceless! (edited) 5d
See All 11 Comments
Littlewolf1 I‘m just gonna say we all get bonus points for not reading the next chapter. First, we have Manon and Abraxos in the air, but it stops there. We don‘t know the response to the other witches, of the 13 of her grandmother. And then, we have Aeline (Celaena) about to get attacked and Rowan nowhere to be found. The fact at this point that I haven‘t just finished the book show dome restrain on my part. Kudos all who are sticking to 3 chapters a day. (edited) 5d
BarkingMadRead @Littlewolf1 I am so close to reading ahead, it‘s been hard to restrain myself 5d
Butterfinger I'm renaming my cat from Ruhn Dannon to Abraxos @BarkingMadRead @mcctrish When he growled the grandmother, I love him. If Maas wants me invested in the Rowan pairing, it will have to be because of his hurt from his past, the guilt of his wife and unborn child dying. Chaol really didn't have that, did he? Just a hateful father. Don't get me wrong, it's awful to endure the abuse, but R and C/A hold tremendous guilt from their actions. 5d
Butterfinger Chaol was weak anyway. Which side did he choose? His own side. 5d
LiseWorks The fact that Celaena still thinks of Chaol is interesting. The fact that she promised Dorian she would be back for him is mentioned again. So, I'm waiting for Dorian to take some kind of action against his father, Chaol, to take a side. And Rowan to take that first kiss. 5d
mcctrish @LiseWorks I wonder how many books it will take ? 4d
mcctrish @Littlewolf1 in my case it‘s the 4 buddy reads I have going on but I was weighing how much is left and debating about just finishing it 4d
5feet.of.fury @Butterfinger I hope Maas thought of something good if Rowan is endgame because I‘m not going to like this man just because he is traumatized 😂 4d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.40-42: We see what burnout looks like for a Fae as powerful as Celaena and Rowan just manages to save her. They are growing closer and sharing more about themselves. She even told him about Sam. Rowan is also learning that Maeve may not be that honest about certain things. She has kept things from him. And Celaena is growing to hate Maeve the more she learns about her. ⬇️

StayCurious Meanwhile, I liked that Aedion spoke so bluntly to Chaol and accused him of not picking a side. He will have to face some hard truths about himself and his relationships with Dorian and Celaena. 6d
BarkingMadRead So many relationship tests in these chapters! But no witches! I need my fix 🤣 6d
See All 8 Comments
mcctrish Chaol is a bystander to his own life 6d
mcctrish @BarkingMadRead I need some Abraxos stat 6d
LiseWorks The burning chapter was intense. She still needs to learn control. I was so glad Rowen realized how bad he treated Celaena. 6d
Littlewolf1 I am really enjoying the chemistry between Rowan and Celaena during these chapters. I think it‘s good that he is starting to see how broken she truly is and being a little bit more respectful. However, I‘m glad he called her out on her fear of her own power. The fact that she thought she burned out during the celebration, gave her help which he smashed by letting her know that she did not burn out, but rather allow her magic to take control. 6d
5feet.of.fury Very good, I enjoyed Celaena & Rowan bonding over their trauma. 5d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.37-39: Boy-that Iskra is asking for a walloping, and I‘m glad Manon gave it to her. Poor Abraxos! But now Manon has shown her weakness to everyone. She‘d better watch her back-even from her allies. Also, what was she thinking stealing from that spider? That‘s gonna come back to haunt her, for sure. Also pretty sure the foul taste/smell is dark magic set to control the witches. Good thing Manon is smart to notice.

Laughterhp I was not expecting her to steal from those spiders! I liked all the witches chapters! 1w
mcctrish @Laughterhp I gasped out loud at the spider double cross! It can‘t end well 1w

mcctrish The black magic that permeates everything is meant to keep them from succeeding for sure - do all the wyverns talk to their witches or just some ? 🤔 1w
LiseWorks I'm falling in love with Abraxas, especially when he shielded her from the cold. Stealing from a spider is not a good thing. 7d
BarkingMadRead Omg these chapters were so good! I worry about the backlash from stealing from those spiders and showing her hand when it comes to Abraxos. That scene where he protected her from the storm was 😍😍 7d
Littlewolf1 I feel like Manon should be paying closer attention to Abraxas action. We know he did not eat the meat for a reason, maybe he was avoiding the drop-off. Also, i really do not like the relationship between Dorian and the nurse. 7d
Butterfinger @mcctrish I have no idea if they all have that mental connection, but I admit I could have squealed when he knocked the three spiders off the cliff. It was like they planned it and it was executed perfectly. @StayCurious it is driving me crazy- the mountain, the rings, the smell and taste, the control. I'm glad the 13 and their wyverns have stopped eating the food. This may be unpopular, but Manon and Abraxas are saving this book. 7d
StayCurious @Butterfinger no I totally agree. Her chapters are the most interesting 6d
5feet.of.fury @Butterfinger agree Abraxos & Manon are my faves. Everyone else is all talk no action. 6d
Roary47 @Butterfinger Nope! I agree 💯! They are saving this book. The spider 🕷️ scene I glazed over. 😭😱 I don‘t really like S with D either @Littlewolf1 I do like that he has someone to keep his magic secret. I wish N was still there to help Dorian with it though. 😔 6d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.34-36: Rowan and Celaena are making progress with each other. Turns out Rowan has lost his mate - which is the worst thing that can happen to Fae I think. No wonder he‘s so hard. Celaena has started to feel a connection to him in that they‘ve both suffered loss and need to crawl their way out of the abyss. Perhaps they can do it together. What he felt for his mate I think Celaena felt for Sam and even Nehemia. ⬇️

StayCurious Aedion and Chaol are closer to discovering how the King got rid of magic. The king must be a keen study to have figured out how to do that. Did he have help? Or did he just control those around him? 1w
BarkingMadRead Ugh am I going to end up liking Rowan? 1w
See All 12 Comments
StayCurious @BarkingMadRead it‘s hard to believe but … maybe? 1w
BarkingMadRead @StayCurious I will be so so mad 🤣🤣🤣 1w
Laughterhp I like that Emrys sticks up for her and has no problem yelling at Rowan. All of a sudden I‘m supposed to feel sympathy for Rowan?! He better do more than just tell her he lost her mate for me to like him. 1w
LiseWorks Aha! So now I feel really bad for Rowan, I knew there was a reason for the way he is. And Aedion is not bad after all. You can't judge a person without knowing them. 1w
Butterfinger I thought Ren's story was pitiful. How far he's fallen just to survive. 1w
Littlewolf1 Not gonna lie, I deal with pain with getting tattoos too. Not the same type, but the same concept. I‘m glad they were able to take this and open up, and then she got a couple good swings in there during this round. They‘re obviously both dealing with my struggle of self-worth, but I like the idea of them healing together. 1w
Read4life With everything going on I‘m WAY behind. I‘m hoping to get caught up tomorrow. 1w
Roary47 I feel like I should feel bad for Rowan. What happened was terrible, but he made the choice to leave his pregnant wife for what he felt his duty. I feel like he picked his job over his family. While sure he was needed, could he have ensured that his wife was safe with relatives, friends, or something before he left? I am glad that Celeana and him had this sort of bonding moment, but I'm still not okay with how he has been treating her. 1w
5feet.of.fury @Roary47 agree, it‘s sad, I have some empathy for him… but that doesn‘t make up@for what he did to her or randomly putting Luca in danger. Ridiculous behavior 6d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.31-33: Man, Rowan is such a d*ck. I don‘t know what his motivation is, or what his past trauma is, but Celaena has been through so much and she‘s just asking for a friend. And he slaps her down for it. We better learn he had a good reason for it - or get to see Celaena beat his ass. ⬇️

StayCurious As usual, the Manon chapters were great. I‘m fascinated with the smell she senses. Is it caused by the King‘s black magic? Is it the same smell Celaena got from the creature draining bodies? So curious! Also, poor Abraxos. He just wants to smell flowers and fly. I hope he‘s not still being abused by the handlers when Manon isn‘t with him. 1w
BarkingMadRead I can‘t wait to find out what that smell is, and I love how much we got of Abraxos! Rowan better redeem himself soon 1w
See All 10 Comments
mcctrish Aedion noticed the smell too - something is rotten in Denmark for reals! Abraxos makes me laugh - he‘s like a cat #youarenotthebossofme ❤️❤️❤️ I worry about the handlers too 1w
Butterfinger Love Abraxos!!! 1w
Laughterhp I thought it was weird that all of a sudden she thought of him as a friend.. he hasn‘t been anything but mean to her. 1w
LiseWorks The Abraxos seen with the flowers reminded me of how to train your dragon movie. 1w
5feet.of.fury Celaena found just another excuse for a pity party IMO 1w
5feet.of.fury Abraxos 🌹🌸💐🌺🌷🌻🌼🪷 1w
Roary47 I think it‘s so cute that a big scary Wyvern with Iron everywhere wants to just smell flowers. I thought it was sweet that she got him a goat. That smell is definitely intriguing. What is it?! 1w

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Book 3 Ch.28-30: Celaena shifts and is able to embrace her fae form, and stays as Fae for an extended period of time. I‘m curious if this is the first time she‘s done that or if she was always Fae as a child. Her memories of her parents and Aedion make me sad but they are good to read because they provide important background. Chaol and Aedion discover there‘s a group of Royal soldiers- surprise surprise, Chaol knows nothing⬇️

StayCurious They obviously work for the king. I feel as though he keeps Chaol around just for show. He definitely wasn‘t offered a coveted black ring so he‘s not in the inner circle or important enough that the king needs to control him. 1w
mcctrish It‘s actually funny how Ardalan seems work on 2 levels ( or is it clever?) Chaol is the legit side of the family business, waste management say, and the other side is the illegal black ring side 1w
See All 18 Comments
StayCurious @mcctrish yeah the king keeps two sets of books 1w
mcctrish Did Perrington‘s champion wear the same outfit/crest ? My brain isn‘t remembering names 1w
LiseWorks I am worried they are going to find out that Aedion s ring is a fake 1w
Butterfinger @mcctrish I don't remember a special crest, just the ring. I hope it goes back full circle. Where is #whatsherface and Dorian's cousin? Were they used as bait for the wyverns? I'm enjoying Dorian's and Sorscha's story. I want to believe in them. Does anyone else feel like this is similar to watching "stories"? LOL 1w
mcctrish @Butterfinger I‘m reading library books so I can‘t go back and check earlier books 🤦🏻‍♀️ Roland is the cousin and the girl was sent with Perrington to meet someone? They both heard the wings ? Roland got a ring but she didn‘t ? 1w
Butterfinger @mcctrish I believe so. I can't remember what makes me think they are with the wyverns. Then, it would make sense that Roland and (name started with a K) she heard wyvern wings. 1w
StayCurious @Butterfinger @mcctrish was it Kaltain? She and Roland are definitely still in play with the Duke. We haven‘t heard the last of them. 1w
mcctrish Yes!!! Kaltain - I wonder who she was to meet? The soul sucker? 1w
Roary47 I think Kaltain doesn‘t have a ring because she has a substance abuse problem. So she is already being controlled @mcctrish . I also want to believe in Sorscha and Dorian. @Butterfinger 1w
mcctrish @Roary47 no I know she didn‘t, but she complained about headaches and hearing the wings the same as Roland who did wear a ring. She took the opium ( or whatever the substance was) for the headaches. Why did the champion who wore a ring not have the headaches? What is Kaltain being manipulated for ? 1w
Roary47 @mcctrish ooo I missed that was why she took the drugs. I thought it was how she was controlled and the drugs produced the headaches and the sensitivity to hearing the wings. 1w
Butterfinger @Roary47 @mcctrish I went back to look. Ch 9 of the current read. There is a Duke (I assume Perrington) with two prisoners (Kaltain and Roland -again, an assumption) Manon thinks their smell is alien. Maybe, only a few are in on the king's plans (Perrington and the champion), and others are drugged by the onyx???? that is in the rings.. All assumptions. But, I am worried about Roland and Kaltain. I want K to be part of the feminist fighters. 1w
mcctrish @Butterfinger Manon says the men smell and taste bad at the mountain, Abraxos won‘t eat the food - is something in the water or does the mountain affect the water? Is Kaltain given something? Wasn‘t the food/water in prison tampered with? 1w
StayCurious @mcctrish @Roary47 @Butterfinger if I remember correctly, the Duke was using the magic on Kaltain to influence her because her bloodline had a history of magic or power. The duke and king wanted that power on their side. But Kaltain wasn‘t strong enough to withstand the effects of the dark magic and the duke said to the king he needed to lay off a bit because she was getting headaches and going a bit batty. (edited) 1w
mcctrish That sounds right @StayCurious 1w
