Manon is showing too much softness, too much caring - at least in the eyes of that old bat. Aedion meets Rowan and it‘s all about the Alphas. Poor Aedion realizes he‘s been beaten by Rowan to the blood oath. This is a big deal - this was Aedion‘s calling. I felt bad for him. ⬇️

StayCurious But at least he made up with Aelin quickly. Rowan has developed feelings for Aelin - but he‘s going to fight them because of reasons. Chaol is still an ass. No news there. And poor Dorian is still trapped😣 - can‘t wait to read more! (edited) 8h

5feet.of.fury I like the way Dorian‘s chapters are done, it makes Aelin & Chaol‘s disagreement more impactful. His POV is very bleak & he‘s mostly gone, but you do get that shred of humanity shown, but the he wishes Aelin killed him so … 8h

mcctrish I wonder if they free magic could Dorian blast the demon out of him? Also Chaol hates himself so much he can‘t deal with anything else - I‘m glad Nes gives him a wide berth because she doesn‘t need that. I feel like Manon and Asterin are close to figuring out what they need to do to survive and it‘s got nothing to do with the current shit show in the mountain or grandma 7h

First, when your suspicious and smelly “allies” wants to experiment on you with demons from another world - you say no. Hands down, claws out. Manon needs to find a way out of this mess or all the witches will pay. Her grandmother sending threats through the mail is annoying. Down with grandma! ⬇️

StayCurious Second - thank goodness Aelin was able to get Aedion out. She saw for herself what‘s happened to Dorian. Is there a way to get him back? What a tense rescue! Third: Chaol is still an ass. He‘s a jerk to Nesryn and Aelin. He realizes he‘s being a jerk and he keeps on being a jerk. I hope something happens that snaps him out of it. 1w

LiseWorks I can not believe that a tribe of witches actually volunteered for this experiment. Glad Aedion is free. Those were tense moments for that rescue. Is Dorian a lost cause? 1w

mcctrish Now I don‘t really understand how Valg impregnation works but putting a stone in your belly does not sound like the full procedure. The yellowlegs are literally insane for volunteering. I want more Elide. And Abraxos. There is something left of Dorian since he didn‘t fight to come forward for Aelin, it can‘t be the end of him already. Chaol is going to break his neck when he falls off his moral high horse 1w

BarkingMadRead I worry about these witches! What are they getting themselves into?!? And Chaol is awful! And poor Dorian, it didn‘t look good for him! 1w

Butterfinger I could have sworn I commented. Dorian's situation is making me want to bite my nails. And the rescue was perfect. 6d

5feet.of.fury The rescue was so good! Chaol really was showing his whole ass in these chapters/ calling Aelin a liar, saying Aelin isn‘t bothered by killing people. Like, bud what do you think you‘re carrying a sword for? And trying to be a revolutionary? Gonna have to get your hands dirty at some point. But I understand not wanting to give up on Dorian 6d

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG #QueenofShadows Ch.1-10: wow what a great first few chapters - I‘m hooked! I like seeing Aelin try to cope with all the recurring characters of her past (Arobynne, Chaol, Lysandra - and memories of Sam - and of course Aedion). Coming back to Rifthold is a lot for her. I feel terrible for Dorian. Will he be able to break free of his father and the Valg? And I still dislike Chaol. A lot. ⬇️

StayCurious He‘s such a dink - and so prejudiced towards Aelin. He doesn‘t like her killing people. He doesn‘t like her magic. He‘s ashamed that he loved her. He thinks she‘s unpredictable. Dude. You need to go. Granted, some of what he knew of her lines up with these thoughts. But I‘m still on her team. ⬇️ (edited) 2w

StayCurious Then we got a glimpse of our witches. I really hope the 13 take a stand for themselves and realize that Adarlan is into some shady shit. They keep noticing a smell and that things aren‘t right. Do something before you get sucked in and mowed over! (edited) 2w

BarkingMadRead I really really am not a fan of Chaol anymore. A friend warned me when I said I was Team Chaol and she was so so right! Ugh 2w

mcctrish Finally we have witches again but I need them to stop complaining about the smell and figure it the fuck out! Chaol will come around, right now he thinks he‘s beneath royalty that kicks ass and not in a sexy way 😜 hopefully a healer means Aedion can help with his escape somehow and not just be a deadweight. Maybe Aelin can help pay off Lysandra‘s debts and they can take Arobynn out together #ihaveplansforthisstory 2w

5feet.of.fury I‘m late lol I‘m not mad at Chaol, the whole convo was really “pot, meet the kettle” blaming eachother for things. Aelin can only see things her impulsive view point, she even realized she could have warned Chaol, didn‘t realize what Lysandra was going thru (even knowing Sam was sympathetic to courtesans… she didn‘t think WHY) 2w

Butterfinger We thought it was Kaltain and what's his face, but having it confirmed is so satisfying. I don't know what to think. I liked Chaol until he said abomination. I think they are all manipulative. Except for Dorian. HELP DORIAN!!!! And Abraxos. He likes to gaze at stars. 🤩🤩 2w

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Novella 5: the assassin and the empire: Well, we did it. We read it and got through it. We knew the ending and we were…sort of…prepared. And honestly, I‘m glad I read these novellas after getting to know Celaena a bit. A lot of people find her unlikeable. I think that yea, she can be difficult at times, but man-she could win an Olympic gold medal in trauma. This girl has been through it. ⬇️

StayCurious It will be interesting to read the next book where she is embracing herself as Aelin and ready to fight for her kingdom and her people. I liked Sam though. I wonder if I will start to feel that way about Rowan. Maybe I shouldn‘t focus so much on romance and focus more on what Celaena needs to do (😆 me laughing knowing that I will always focus on the romance) 3w

5feet.of.fury I liked it as Celaena‘s origin story, but the relationship with Sam didn‘t feel fleshed out enough & arobynn‘s deception was so obvious… I‘m looking forward to getting back to wyrdkeys & wyverns & magic & Manon 3w

Roary47 @mcctrish I think Chaol was her first time. I seem to remember (and I could be wrong) that she wasn‘t going to wait because the future was so uncertain. In reference to Sam and her getting close and waiting with us knowing it was too late for a future together. 3w

LiseWorks I hate Arobynn so much after this book. I loved Sam, even though I knew the ending for him, knowing that it was partly his fault for going after these two guys. If we had read this book first, it would have been a shock not knowing about what happened to Sam. 3w

5feet.of.fury @Roary47 I think you are correct @mcctrish the physical connection, but also the rest of it, she doesn‘t open up to him about her secret, she still thinks of them being enemies just months ago when “he loved her for years”, they just seem never on the same page.. even in the context of traumatized teens I‘m like “what do you like about eachother??” 3w

mcctrish @5feet.of.fury yes! After this story their relationship feels less explained because of everything it wasn‘t and @LiseWorks Celaena and Arobynn seem more toxic 3w

Butterfinger Why won't she even consider Aerobynn as the traitor? As many times as he manipulated, beaten, and betrayed her in this book. I don't get it. Is he a twisted hero (for giving her a purpose, a life) after escaping Terasen, a deranged father figure (who took her to concerts), or just a classic #StockholmSyndrome case? 3w

I found some of the stories to have a lot of filler. I can see why the reading order is so controversial with that ending, ultimately I‘m glad for where we read AB with #littensloveSJM because I don‘t know if I would have thought much of Celaena if we‘d read it 1st & that ending is bleak with no real inkling of what‘s in store. The best part for me was the little things we had heard about in the 1st 3 books getting fleshed out.

StayCurious I agree I liked knowing the characters a bit prior to going into this 3w

mcctrish It did feel like we got a bit too much review with each story and I don‘t understand how people loved this 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3w
