Recently there was a hashtag/readathon highlighting trans/non binary books & authors and this caught my eye. (Sorry, I forget the hashtag). This is an excellent graphic memoir where the author is dealing with being at college, coming out as genderqueer, and being with their family as mom does her best to fight cancer. Sentimental and emotional, but not overly so somehow. #bookspinbingo #bookspin book

Sarahreadstoomuch @ravenlee yes! Seems obvious now 🤦‍♀️ 2mo
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 2mo
ravenlee Sometimes the hashtag titles completely escape me, too - I‘ll look up what I think it is but it turns out I‘ve got one phrase or word wrong and can‘t find the darn thing. 2mo

I started this for the #TransRightsReadathon and finished last week. I really loved entering this fae world filled with magic and political intrigue. Wyatt and Emyr are such a complicated couple yet truly strive to understand each other better after they are reunited. The issue of bigotry (whether towards race, gender, or magical beings) was handled in such a realistic and powerful way. Definitely looking forward to finishing this duology soon!

#MiddleGradeMarch and the #TransRightsReadathon led me to tons of impulse reads this month. In addition I did manage to read my #bookspin and 2 of my #roll100 books and keep up with my buddy reads. My #doublespin this month is the my current slow poetry read, so I expect to finish it sometime in mid May.

#TransRightsReadathon book 3! Religious trauma, trans rage, & teen romance await in this tender & gruesome horror novel. In a disturbing near-future, with the help of a band of young queer survivors, transboy Benji escapes the eco-Christo-fascist cult that raised him (& brought about the apocalypse), but not before being injected with a bioweapon that will transform him—but hey, if they make you into a monster, you might as well unleash yourself.
