3.5 Stars • Gravewater Lake by A.M. Strong and Sonya Sargent (2025) is a psychological thriller. Anna washes up on Gravewater Lake's shore during a blizzard. She is injured and has amnesia. Rescued by Gregg, she‘s trapped in his isolated house as eerie noises and fragmented memories fuel paranoia. Is Gregg her savior or captor? Very Hitchcockian with twists that unravel secrets in this tense, tale of trust and deception.

I'm in the minority on this one. I did not understand the hype. The characters were one dimensional. The pacing was very slow. Some parts took forever, and others were rushed. From beginning to end, it was predictable. I think this would be a good book for someone getting into reading thrillers. Unfortunately, I didn't end up liking this one. 2/5

I loved this book and read it in one sitting. Halston is a 22 year old woman who gets caught in a gambling scam and gets recruited to help steal a Picasso. All is not as it seems though, and there are so many red herrings that it made my head swivel. Fun read for the end of summer.

I loved the first book in this series, but it feels like it‘s getting a bit tired now.

How far would you go to protect your child?
I knew something was wrong. It's a mother's instinct.
This novel is set in northern Vermont in the cold of winter. It‘s a thriller. A woman awakens after being struck in the head soaking wet on the edge of the lake. She has no memory of who or where she is. A man takes her into an isolated house by a seemingly nice man. The only clue is a silver bracelet with an engraved letter A on it. 4/5⭐️

Very descriptive from start to finish, allowing me to visualize it like a movie. I could probably draw a map from the way things are described, and I'd say it really picked up in the end. It wasn't as good as Ask for Andrea but quite similar in style. 8/10 I would recommend. Would be a good book gift for someone who is also a runner (main character/huge point of plot is running).

Another thriller about the insidious world of momfluencers. The writing is witty & funny, starts off with Chiara is excited to make mom friends at a retreat aimed at growing your social media brand & fostering coMOMunity, but she doesn‘t fit it in & it ends with a bang. The humor stays & turns into a campy slasher as our hero (of sorts) takes on moms of all forms from the #tradwife to the #BossMom.
This book is deeply unserious, a hilarious ride.
